K-Drama
It's Surprisingly Good
For 20 minutes each day, you get entertained with a nice storyline. This series could have been made into the regular 45-minute drama to make each episode even more suspenseful. The actors' acting are just right, and they seem to have good chemistry together. Hope the next episodes won't ruin the momentum and deliver a happy ending please. Was this review helpful to you?
It's actually nice.
Feng Shao Feng, of course, did a lovely job of his take on Di Ren Jie. I just wish that the plots weren't that "fast-forward" because each sub-plot has quite a story to tell. Overall, this drama is satisfying with actors delivering their given roles. If they are to create S2, please don't rush the plot. Let it have the right pace and not make the guilty ones of the crimes that obvious. Was this review helpful to you?
It's Amazingly Nice!
Both actors are refreshing to watch. Plot is good so far. How I wish that this had been a regular 45-minute drama, so that the sub plots and drama could have been expanded more. Both actors played their characters well. We need more LHY please! Let's raise the ratings to 8 and above! This drama needs to be watched and appreciated by more viewers! Please give us a happy ending! Was this review helpful to you?

It's Not a Masterpiece, But It's Good Enough
The early episodes started out strong, and each episode makes you look forward to the next. Acting is great from all the actors. How I wish though that it's not a male-dominated cast. However, toward the later episodes, you'll realize that everything's being rushed, especially the last one. This series could have been made to 20+ episodes so that the plot and all hidden motives of the culprits could have been threshed out well, including their character profile, and explain how they're all interconnected to each other. The latter episodes make everything so obvious. While justice was served, some plot holes were not tied. This series has the noir potential, with all the dark lighting, early 2000s vibes, provincial setting, and character profiles. But sadly, the latter episodes and ending do little to make this a crime drama worthy of rewatch. The opening song could also have been better. I reckon that it was chosen because one of its lines somewhat echoes one of Nietzsche's famous lines: "And if you gaze long into an abyss, the abyss also gazes into you..."; however, the song does not mirror the main idea or theme of that line nor does the story show how clearly or emphatically any of the characters showcase that line. But yes, the series offer good nightly entertainment to pass the time. Was this review helpful to you?
It's So Fine and Easy to Watch!
I like how this series is building up the story even if episode 1 reminded me of Bella and Pope's "Love Destiny" in 2018. The chemistry between the male leads and other pairs are so darn good. I'm glad that they're not giving all and everything in the first episodes. I like that the love story of the main lead couple is kinda like a slow burn! I just hope that we get a HAPPY ENDING, pretty please!!! And more drama series with Leng and August as leads! Please!!!Was this review helpful to you?
Boring!!! Terrible!!! Predictable!!!
I like both actors in this drama and have seen the movie version of this. Couldn't get past episode 1 with all the predictable kind of plot. It's very obvious that Park Eun Bin's character will be used by the prosecutor to solve crimes and win cases and falling in love with each other will come in the middle of things. What's new?! It's a waste of time to even bother finishing episode 1 since everything's predictable. The narrative should should have been given a different twist. If you're a die hard fan of either actor, go ahead and bore yourself. Otherwise, save yourself because there are other underrated dramas or series more worthy to be watched and re-watched.Was this review helpful to you?
Nice Story But...
The story is interesting. But cannot get past Shen Yu Jie. I wish they had chosen another female actor for the role. Her acting is not good at all - canned expressions and unnatural. Luo Yun Xi is always lovely and graceful as ever. But he seems to have been typed cast into such roles. I wish they'd give him other roles to play to show his spectrum as an actor. Despite the Luo Yun Xi and Alen Fang combination in this drama, the support role of Shen Yu Jie's character can't seem to pull everything together. Was this review helpful to you?
Immediately Dropped!
Episode 1 pretty much tells you how the plot will be. Love the ML's acting skills. I've seen several of his dramas. He's a great actor. But man! The plot itself is snooze fest even just in episode 1. Couldn't get past it. What's new?! We know that almost all dramas would give more or less similar storylines. But at least give a twist or something to lessen the boredom the storyline foretells. Was this review helpful to you?
