I actually laughed out loud when I read your comment because I ask my friends similar questions when I am in the middle of a drama. They always tell the me the same thing, "Keep watching, your anticipation is part of the mystery and fun. Enjoy.
This Drama is a chess match composed of insight, focus, and will. Understanding the essence of individuals, always keeping one's goal as the decision maker, and the determination to follow through are the strengths of the main character. There is no chosen protagonist. The audience decides. The antagonist is our own bias. If people see Lee Yo Won's character as "cold and calculating", it is a reaction to her blunt honesty in her assessment of people and relations.

From the political drama perspective, I appreciated this drama. The strategies employed by Seo Yi Kyung were well thought out. She was always two steps ahead, and flexible to account for variables. Yes, some situations were over the top, but this is a drama. The discipline of the actors to stay in their roles was admirable. One of my favorites.
