That sounds reasonable. The name of the adoptive father is Wheeso, which sounds similar to Matthew. Both actors have similar builds. But the most unique common thing between those two is that both have the scar on the chest. There is a picture of Matthew sitting on the chair of the control room, that was shown unoccupied in episode 1, and wearing the white suit with the blue shirt unbuttoned. The scar is clearly visible.
