omg i’ve said so many times that these are traditions to pacify the spirits of the tombs that the penta sect have raided in the past and you’re right he doesn’t have to follow them which is why he and father both wants to disband…in a more recent episode he says that his mothers death could have ended with his father but it didn’t because his father was bounded by rules and stuff he grew to forgive his father bc he realized he had no choice. that’s why the sects now end with him. he disbands the sects so he and will shuang can live a normal life later without her being sacrificed i apologize if i spoiled anything

yunqi has his reasons for turning her down in the later episodes you’ll find more about how he feels and that what actually is happening and why he can’t reciprocate her feelings

yes the way you have it written is fine but there are a couple issues with it. the first is that it ONLY makes sense to a reader if they’ve already watched the drama which by then the synopsis is no longer of use to them since they’ve already seen the drama. a synopsis is supposed to be straightforward to the point to get a watcher interested in the show. the way you have it written makes the reader have to use context clues that tang jiayu is a woman. and in todays society there are same sex couples so essentially it would confuse the reader. yes we know that there is censorship but that doesn’t prevent companies from releasing “BL” dramas. another problem with it is unless you are chinese you wouldn’t know if tang jiayu is a woman or not since some chinese names are somewhat gender neutral.
