i know so many people disliked this because of the bittersweet ending, but it's not badly written. for it to have had a 'happy' ending, the characters would have had to be compromised OR there would have had to be a deux ex machina (aka, ACTUAL bad writing). the story prepared us for the end well in advance and it closed on a very hopeful note ❤️ i think it's a beautiful, bittersweet story about a moral vampire, his pursuit of love, and the unavoidable obstacles that come from that conflict. and the fact that he was able to experience the love he was after (even if for a short period of time) was enough for me to be satisfied. i give it 9/10 (just because the second leads and the villain vamp annoyed the living daylights out of me, but the other supporting characters were amusing and endearing, so they made up for it)
