Title Idol I
I initially liked that this drama portrayed the horror of being an extremely popular idol star but they chickened out of that portrayal halfway through. The writers changed their mind and want us to forget about how isolating and terrifying it is to be an idol. How the extreme pressure of his fame and invasive, parasocial fans deteriorated La Ik's mental and physical health, as well as his personal relationships, to the point where he was abusing substances, being aggressive to others, having panic attacks, and collapsing from exhaustion. I guess in their minds it's better to escape into the fantasy of how fun and cute it would be to date a famous person that you're a fan of rather than addressing a complicated and all too real story. So disappointing :(
