ive only made it to ep 18 but I've noticed this since the beginning and especially starting ep 14 but.... does no one else feel like there's something more between lao k and lao mao 👀

you say that as if the entirety of china is homophobic and EVERYone in thailand is accepting. you understand that these production companies and actors don't like these regulations either, but tf are they gonna do about it? work in government positions and change the law? chinese authors and creators obviously aren't gonna give their hardwork and creativity to another country to profit off of. even though thailand is more accepting (and has a ton of thai bls if what i've heard is correct) anyone with a brain can admit/see that their production quality in this aspect, is nothing compared to those in china.
at the same time, i feel the authors would rather have their work labeled as "bromance" (because anyone who has seen anything under that category understands what it's hinting at) and have a ton of people watch it and look to their novels for more, than to give it to another country that doesn't have their target audience or to make it a "straight couple story". pushing their stories through translations would only complicate things more and might even ruin the intended message the author wanted.
a prime example is the untamed, which is labeled as "bromance" and all you need is one brain cell to realize what it is and to realize how popularized it still is to this day. not to seem like im sucking chinas d or anything and i hate the blatant homophobia the government is pushing as well, but your generalization is a problem.
all we as viewers can do at this point, is to hope that production companies and writers can maneuver their way through the censorships, like they did with word of honor, and hope that the ban gets lifted soon.
The chemistry between the leads is SO GOOD!! I will agree with some people, the second couple did get really annoying and towards the end, I ended up skipping a lot of their scenes. However, the scenes the main leads were in, were so good I not only watched every second of it, I went back and rewatched them. 45 episodes isn't 'long' for me like some people said. Many argued that they "dragged on the show when it could've ended at 24 episodes" but I disagree, because then there would've been so many open endings and confusion. I found the many issues the couples faced to be very realistic, in a way that shows "life is a pain and can sometimes go wrong. Not everything is perfect." It doesn't sugar coat things like many other dramas, which I enjoyed a lot. In this show, there are many romance scenes Johnny and Dilraba act in, and contrary to what others might say, I feel as though they have the best chemistry I have ever seen on screen (between M/F). Personally, I recommend people to watch it (even if you stay just for the main couple ;) ) as the chemistry is so good, the acting is worthy of praise, and the plot makes me want to punch people but its so good at the same time I finished all episodes.
