Because in general, mainland china production is just better. Better screenwriting, better plot, better acting, actors, speech/dialogue (non mandarin speakers might not notice), etc. They also definitely make MUCH more profit in China than Taiwan. Government aside, there's a huge BL fanbase in China which is why stuff like The Untamed, Word of Honor, Guardian, etc. did SO incredibly well. In addition, politically, it's not an ideal situation.

I know some people wish there was more bl action, but personally I think this was PERFECT. Not only does this work for censorship, it shows that it can still be good and well perceived (by everyone) without heavily relying on fetishization and the sort. It shows that there was amazing acting, screenwriting, execution, and implication. Honestly, if you understand social cues and minor hints/insinuations, this shit is the best bl I have EVER seen. Most bls (if not all) are popular and well liked because it's so fetishizy and essentially tame p*rn, which is so odd. This is honestly so cute and SO INCREDIBLY FILMED where everyone was so talented (not to mention everyone was so incredibly pleasing to the eye). There were times when very clear gay shit was happening, and they were playing it off so funnily that I had to do a double take because it was SO obvious I actually laughed. Please, if you're giving up on CBLs (I don't blame you), but please give this a shot. It is so good.

the romance is pretty straight forward between the 2 leads as they had history together and are in love with each other. there really isn't a secondary couple although its hinted but so far nothing concrete (oscar and SCC). the 2ML is talking about XMH and he is the most fucked up character i have EVER seen in a show. like skip past evil, he's all sorts of messed up and needs genuine psychiatric help. the sister is talking about the FL's sister who had a lasting trauma that made her mentally and physically incapacitated and constantly needed looking after until she "woke up" all of a sudden through something and ended up meeting up with the ML. she's kind of important because shes what's most important to the FL and is what the 2ML uses to blackmail her as she holds all the secrets and pieces to the 2ML's plan, etc. lmk if you have other questions!

XMH is beyond messed up.... but it was funny watching him run around while knowing he got played and got his plans ruined bahaahaha

i guess that’s just the film industry, you have to have some sort of support to get you leads. the skirt thing, you see that quite a bit in “modern” dramas or shows and it’s just part of styling. the female actors/models are all very pretty and skinny and it’s appealing for the audience, plus she looks good in them 😅

i mean what you’re saying isn’t wrong, but i don’t think it’s fair to compare an actor with years of acting experience from 2014 to an idol turned actor just last year. CX definitely has room for improvement, but for having such limited experience and just starting last year, i’d say she’s doing pretty well. she might not seem suitable because of her background and how serious this story is and that she’s known to be super bubbly and smiley, but at the end of the day, that’s a matter of opinion if she “fits” this role or not. everyone has to start somewhere and i personally think it’s good that she got this role instead of an already experienced actor so she can learn and adapt and we’re not stuck seeing the same person over and over again in the industry :)

i don't really ship the actual actors, but i prefer CX and XK as TY and LSC more simply because of the plot and the show :)

you don’t have to necessarily because i think by the time you start watching now you’ll be past the stressful part. but, if you want to watch everything in full and not have to wait then i recommend waiting but if you pace your self you should be fine :)

I've never seen ChengXiao acting before and don't really understand why people don't like her? First of all, she's literally stunning and pulls this role off so well. Because of this, I started watching Falling into Your Smile and when I say that might've been one of the best things I've ever watched, I'm not kidding.

MH is not only pissing me off, but also creeping me out. I'm starting to think he's behind this whole thing just to get with SXY. Like he definitely liked her from that one clip when she's a schoolgirl and liked her cutesy behavior and her sister found out, which is why she's low-key acting like an innocent child (because maybe that's what MH liked about her little sister??) and how he's trying to ruin all of LZL plan's because maybe he is orchestrating all of this... this show is stressing me out because of all the stupid and greedy people.

im so glad i waited a week to watch ep 27,28,29,30,31, and 32 all together because i would not be able to deal with the cliff hanger
