I feel like the creators just gave up on a comprehensible plot after ep 5ish.... and as much as I love a good NC seen, the ones in last 2 episodes just.....didn't fit.
did not fail my expectations. Sure their were a few plot holes and pacing of the final episodes were a bit off, but a brilliant show regardless. Please please let there be a S2 🙏
I wasa hmming and hawing about watching this for so long (trailer didn't appeal to me at all lol) but man, am I glad I gave this a go. The political messages are very much on the nose (not neccesarily a bad thing) but the story, the acting, the cinematography and the OST was just soooo good. I really want to see a nother OffGun dark themes show now.
I really liked Cutie Pie 1 , it was a good "turn your brain off and enjoy the chemistry" type series. But this honestly felt like an extended commercial with a small bit of watered down plot than an actual sequel. Cinematography was pretty good, I will give it that.
I have seen nearly all of the pre 2010 released top 10 popular doramas, in the early 2010s~. I remeber they were BIG, like every J drama fan online and offline had seen them or at least heard of them. Part of the reason was probably because the source material was already popular- Hana yori dango and Hana kimi were already very popular shoujou mangas, and 1 Liter of tears was based on a popular book. They were also fairly well adapted, produced and very well acted (unlike some trash fires which utterly destroyed the beatiful original material). (On a different note, even some of the popularty of the massively succesfull Jpop group Arashi could be attributed to Hana Yori Dango. In an intrview back then, the group outright outright said MatsuJun -the male lead in Hana yori Dango- saved the group by bringing in the work. His role gave them the opportunity to use their song as the theme song for the drama and bring them out of the slump the group was going through at the time. And it was a fantastic song as well.) Having said all that, kind of surprised Gokusen isn't on this list? I mean it was cheesy as hell, but it was such a classic >< Personally for me, those shows were some of the first ever J dramas I have every seen, and the first shows that introduced me to the world of asian dramas. And so it will always hold a special place in my heart, and IMO will hold a well deserved position on the top 10 popular J doramas.
I was going to wait unitl the show finished airing to binge it, but my impatience got the best of me😅. Things are getting very intense, but now I have to wait 3 weeks to see the conclusion, why did I do this to myself😭
I think this is the sign the that I need, to continue watching😂For some reason I find akira Cringy😂
I can't say Akira's acting improved exactly, but he did become less cringy as the show went on. There was still cringe worthy scenes, but definitely improved since ep 1.😅
A hidden gem of a TV show. Felt like Akira's acting was over the top at first, but it quickly grew on me. While it is not BL, there is plenty of subtext to keep the fujoshi in you happy😏. Looking forward to end of S2 so I can binge it in one go😃
as in how did I guess it was the hairstick? (can't tell if you were asking a sarcastic question or not, lol) I figured the hairpiece was something important when young WKX was shown wearing it. It was too big for young WKX which made it stand out. And it seemed far to important to be just an heriloom from his parents.
Any one know if the VIP only episodes on Youku are english subbed? I'm debating whether or not to get a subscription for Youku, but no point if it is not subbed
Means the original novel is BL (boys love), but China's censorship don't like rainbows, so they usually tone down the BL element to be more of a strong bromance, with varying levels of success.
So... the guy is DYING XD and you are judging him for a few smokes?? Lol hes DYING. LET HIM ENJOY HIS LAST FEW…
maybe, but honestly if he's already at terminal stage lung cancer (which the show is heavily implying with the 6 month life expectancy) smoking again will not make the make the cancer progress faster. But you are right in that it will irritate the lungs, casue more inflammtion which will inturn lead to more coughing up blood, and worsen his symptoms. So yes, smoking again will make him feel worse, but will not necessarily kill him faster. (if anything, all that dust, near drownings, attacks by weird crtiters etc would cause more damage than an occaisonal ciggie)
Interesting take, but for me, (and from reading some other comments, for most of us fans) 'boyband effect' is not what made this one of my all time favorites. Are they all good looking? Sure. But this is not the only drama with a gorgeous cast andvery few female characters, but they have not had the success of Untamed. Perhaps the boyband effect did play a part in its popularity, but I feel that contribution is negligable compared to the story, chemistry and the talent of the cast which really made this a stand out.
this is spot on, I'm in the health sector as well and these little things really pushed my buttons; my biggest pet peave was the lab scenes wehre they NEVERbutton up their damn lab coats. It's there for a reason, and adding a dramatic flaire aint one of them reasons.
Can I also add- main character suddenyl getting a cold and fever after standing in the rain (or whatever cliches scene), during which they are unconciousness but still manage to look unfailingly hot but also vulnerable , and then miraculously recover in less than a day. Yeah no, that is not how it work!! -_-
