KTTPH script was written in 2013. Script was revised for more than 10 years. KTTPH team handed over the full script to HMH before filming, meaning there's no script change after the filming started. (Now a days, actors with influential agencies can change the script to add more drama to their characters which makes the plot inconsistent. KTTPH didn’t allow it)

HMH saw the potential of the script and that's one of the reason KTTPH could launch. KTTPH had very low budget and HMH was willing to play XWY because of the good script. Last year KTTPH team posted on his birthday that because of him, there's KTTPH.

So if anyone have a question that why did HMH join as the male lead, the answer should be without him there won't be any KTTPH. He should be the first actor to sign the contract. The drama which was supposed to film in 2013, successfully launched in 2025, it was partially thanks to him. So anyone can be changed, not him. He is the one who is responsible to attract investors.

Few facts:
KTTPH was in preparation more than ten years ago(2013), but it went through many twists and turns, and failed twice to restart. It was buried because several of its(production team) dramas were not made and it had no money to film. The producer team has been raising money everywhere for years. Hou Minghao saw the potential in this script, and the project was successfully restarted.

A project that should have been launched more than a decade ago failed to get off the ground due to various reasons. During its final restart of preparations, Hou Minghao saw the story and decided to join. Filming successfully began in 2025. Meng Qingfan (CEO of Honghuo), the chief producer of Sparrow Bone, said at the opening ceremony that the preparation of Sparrow Bone was extremely difficult and required the hard work of many people.

Although iQiyi didn't provide any promotion or distribution for the show, the production team is very strong. Many of the cast and crew are old partners brought by Hong Huo. The show not only has veteran behind-the-scenes staff in the industry, but also a variety of well-known and talented supporting actors. Despite the limited budget, the production cost of the show was spent wisely.

The script has reportedly been revised and updated over the past ten years, and it's quite good; it has a vintage drama feel.

He did that to protect XJY. So that none can hurt her even after his death.

If the team promoted it well, the outcome would be even better. But unfortunately they are stingy in spending money.

It means the budget of the drama was low but the profit is huge. So it maximizes the outcome.
