So in the double the age gap between the ML and the the FL is 12 years old here it's 11 years old. It's seems…
While yes, the parents made their decision and we have no choice other than to go with the parents' decision, I also still will question whether pushing a 17 year old girl into this role was necessary.

Might also be another cultural difference. I dont think kissing is okay even if its acting between a teenager and an adult. I know lots of people say her parents consented to this so its fine but how can you be sure the parents made this decision for her good? Parents arent infallible. How do you know her parents arent choosing wealth and fame over their daughter's actual well-being? I dont mean to accuse her parents but I personally wouldn't let my 17 year old child act in a romance with a 28 year old actor who has previous "steamy" roles. Nothing against Hou MingHao, its just the nature of the industry.

Correct. Because shes 17, I personally dont think she should play the romantic interest of a 28 year old guy. Yeah, might be a cultural difference. I dont know anyone who gets married at 17 but plenty of people are married around 28. And here's a teenager taking on the role of the wife of a grown man. I mean, a pairing of a 27yo and 38yo is different from a 28yo and 17yo simply because the 17yo isnt even an adult. Dont get me wrong tho, I'd also still slightly question the pairing of the former.

There's a difference. Ai Mi is a minor; she's 17. Wang Xing Yue was a legal adult. Don't get me wrong tho, i was questioning the casting in of FL and ML in The Double too.

I'm a little apprehensive about Ai Mi taking on the role of FL as the co-star of Hou Minghao mostly because of the age gap. We have plenty other actresses of similar age to Hou Minghao, struggling to land a good role. I think Ai Mi has plenty of time ahead of her to experience other various roles that dont involve romance with another much older co-star. I think she did great in The Double! I'm not particularly keen about teen actresses filling up romantic roles.

While i understand the talk about skipping this one if i have a problem BUT YOU DONT UNDERSTAND. I enjoy watching Hou Minghao and its a little hard finding costume dramas with happy endings from him. This one has potential, i just find the casting a little questionable.
