It's just the beginning but I'm struggling to like Min Woo and Seok Hoon. They are so violent towards Ji Sook…
Yeah, it's the only way he could get her to do what he wants. Ji Sook has no choice really - she has to do it for her family and Seok Hoon is holding that against her. I just don't like the way he kinda blackmails her like, if you don't abide, you'll just be a murderer locked up in jail.
I thought Seok Hoon didn't want Eun Ha to marry Min Woo because he loves her and that he was going to use Ji Sook as a stand in to marry Min Woo in her place so that Eun Ha, technically, isn't married. But now that Eun Ha is actually dead, I don't know what he's doing. Is it for the success of the family? Money? I feel like I missed something because I don't know what Seok Hoon benefits from their marriage because he doesn't get Eun Ha. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
It's just the beginning but I'm struggling to like Min Woo and Seok Hoon.
They are so violent towards Ji Sook that I feel really sympathetic towards her. I know that Min Woo is struggling mentally, and he's acting out in fear of what he is capable of, but the aggression is so intense. I hope the guys start to ease off a bit... especially Seok Hoon - like have some compassion dude! He's just treating Ji Sook like a dirty rag doll ugh.
I never thought bag straps could be such a scary weapon ><
I find Min Young really stupid though - maybe it's just the writing - but come on, she takes revenge on something…
Same, but we still have a few more episodes left. The mystery of Soo In's text messages is solved, so will we spend the next episodes focusing on what happened to Eun Byul? I don't think she'll turn up next week and reveal everything about what happened in one sitting.
Seems like the writers might have another mystery for us to solve and Eun Byul might be back to round up a gang of helpers now that she's done with her own business; unless they're just going to spend the next few episodes trying to work out the whole romance thing, which to me, isn't as exciting. Getting Eun Byul and Eun Bi to co-habit and attend the same school just seems like the cherry on top of the cake for a finale - it'll be interesting to see whether Eun Byul actually has plans to return to school now that she's back home, or whether she's still planning to stay undercover for while so Eun Bi remains in her place for now.
I find Min Young really stupid though - maybe it's just the writing - but come on, she takes revenge on something that isn't directly Eun Byul's fault, if she's going to blame someone for how no one checked whether Soo In was okay, then she should be harassing everyone who was in her class.
Clearly multiple people were getting the messages but not everyone like Min Joon who was also part of their freshman class. Min Young is just trying to find a target for her rage and who better than Eun Byul who was supposedly a good friend during elementary school - though by the flashback, it seems like they lost contact for a while and they barely just recognised one another; just because you were close friends with someone a long time ago, doesn't mean that lasts forever - people change! Her motivations are valid, but her anger is just directed wrongly. Her actions would've made more sense if Soo In committed suicide because of bullying.
I don't know much about medical conditions but i've looked it up and encephalitis (inflammation of the brain) isn't a sudden cause of death, it progressively gets worse and can be diagnosed earlier for treatment (in very rare severe cases it could cause death in 12-24 hours); so Soo In must've been feeling terrible from the get go. It's not just a matter of saying 'are you okay' because it could already be too late. Surely it's partly Min Young and her mum's fault for not recognising that she was ill, why didn't they ask whether she was okay before she went to school?
Sigh, but this is a drama so I shouldn't look into it too much with real world logic...
I'm interested in Eun Byul's mystery now. I doubt Min Young was harassing her during the trip - I feel like someone else was tormenting Eun Byul, which caused her to go into hiding and disappear for a while. Also, Min Joon's flashback of seeing Eun Byul freak out the day before they announced Soo In's death seems fishy. Soo In died whilst on her desk, so why would Eun Byul, who discovered her first, be so freaked out that she would scream, back up, and fall over outside of the classroom? Maybe someone else was in the room and she saw something she shouldn't?
Who knows! Well, now that Eun Byul is back hopefully we'll get some answers from her side!
The curiosity and speculation is killing me!
there still few episodes left. i guess lee un bi neither like yi an nor tae kwang. i feel that she just wanna…
Hah, my thoughts exactly, neither Eun Bi or Eun Byul seemed particularly interested in romantic relationships - why can't a guy and a girl be good friends? Eun Bi always wanted to have loyal friends who would stick by her and that's what she has now so I don't think she'd jeopardise it - at least for now while she's got other stuff to worry about.
Though if Eun Bi were to get romantically involved then i'd choose Tae Gwang over Yi Ahn for sure!
Confirmed that Eunbyul is alive. She appears briefly in ep.11 guys! And i'm hoping the person who opens the door…
I don't think it's TG, YA, EByul or her mum, they didn't even know where she was so whoever it is must've been in the school beforehand because they got to her really fast. Could be their teacher? The teacher would have the keys surely... It would make sense if he saw Min Young lock her up and came to save her. We all know by now that everyone in this drama seems to have a knack for being at the right place for eavesdropping hah.
I love the pace of this drama; all the relationships develop so naturally and gradually that you really start to care about each character as you get a sense of their background and personality.
Seung Chan got off to a bad start with Ye Jin but after watching and interacting with her in his own quirky way, it's really nice to see his feelings develop in each episode.
Whilst Ye Jin and Jun Mo have such a long history together - Cha Tae Hyun and Gong Hyo Jin just act so naturally that it feels like they've also known each other for years.
Even Cindy the ice princess is slowly starting to melt thanks to Seung Chan.
Everything is nice and subtle, which is so refreshing after watching a melodrama xD
For some reason, I don't think that Eun Bi likes Yi Ahn in a romantic way. Yi Ahn and Tae Gwang are seriously and genuinely crushing on Eun Bi/Eun Byul, but Eun Bi's behaviour towards them seems borderline platonic to me.
Eun bi seems more concerned about being the cause of misfortunate events and hurting other people's feelings right now than reciprocating/projecting romantic feelings. The romance part of the plot all comes from the guys behaviour rather than Eun bi/byul's.
That's why I find it so hard to read Eun bi's behaviour, she could swing either way - but i don't think she has fallen for Yi Ahn, she seems more sorry towards him if anything because he got hurt trying to help her, she lied to him, and he's dealing with major losses (career/Eun Byul).
The romance is more of a bonus side story to the mystery, which i'm really enjoying.
With the way this is going, the drama could potentially end with no official pairings. But if all goes well and Eun Bi and Eun Byul reunite on good terms (sisterhood ftw), then it could all end with a really tight knit group of friends and even more adorable crushing from Tae Gwang and Yi Ahn towards the respective sisters. I kinda like the idea of an open resolution that hints to the true pairings rather than definitive TG+EBi and YA+EByul - feels slightly more realistic.
Man, this is getting better and better.
But can we just take a moment from hating So Young's guts and appreciate Jo Soo Hyang's acting? For a rookie with only a small handful of roles under her belt, she is doing a stellar job!
Wow... I felt the pace of the first 2 episodes was great but what the hell happened in episode 3? The second half…
5 episodes is a bit too much, but they should at least let us know how they got the band together. It seems like Ah Ra (the sly bitch - excuse my language) might've joined because of Jae Rim, but what about the other two random members -_-
I feel like it started off about music, but somehow the writers decided that the teenage relationship angst was worth more attention.
IKR, she went from careful and cautious to I need you now! Talk about multiple personality disorder lol.
most people don't notice that eunbyul didn't disappear during the trip...her last "appearace" wasn't…
Yeah, it's like the director wants us to be suspicious of her because the way that the camera panned over from her using her phone, to him getting Soo In's message just seemed too obvious. Maybe she's a red herring, but there is definitely something fishy about her anyways.
I agree, I'm not entirely sure about what the male teacher's relationship with Soo In could be. The fact that he's getting Soo In's messages whilst other teachers are oblivious to what's going on means that he must also be a significant factor in Soo In's death alongside Eun Byul etc. But I don't think he killed her or anything because he genuinely seems to care about his students, but maybe he has regrets like he couldn't save her or something. Who knows...
Thanks for the review,
I was trying to figure out how I feel about this drama and I think you've taken the words right out of my mouth. Major issue for me was the writing - writers dumbed down the cops far too much especially in the last episode. I couldn't help but face palm when it came to the point when the detectives couldn't even do their own jobs without summoning supernatural forces (Cho Rim)
-___-
I also felt obliged to finish it, but it was too bad it didn't deliver all the way :(
Wow... I felt the pace of the first 2 episodes was great but what the hell happened in episode 3? The second half just went full speed ahead! The band was conceived and made successful within 5 minutes!
Another episode of build up wouldn't have hurt - like how did they convince Shi Hoo and the others to join? Are the writers struggling under the twelve 50 minute episode restrictions?
It feels like they sped through a good few weeks or months of material because we miss out so much. It just makes it a little hard to buy into Ma Ri and Jae Min's relationship at the end of the episode... we've seen more awkward misunderstandings between them than seeing them actually get close and affectionate (which i assume occurred in that time lapse during their band interactions).
I just hope it slows down a little because it was going so well! >__<"
most people don't notice that eunbyul didn't disappear during the trip...her last "appearace" wasn't…
I like the last theory but if Soo In's mum kidnapped the real Eun Byul, shouldn't she be more surprised at Eun Bi's appearance? Eun Bi posing as Eun Byul should be more surprising to her if she did kidnap her. Unless Soo In's mum is crazy and deluded herself to think that the real Eun Byul is and resembles Soo In, so in her crazy little world Eun Byul still exists in regular society... getting awfully paradoxical here.
But what if Soo In's mum does have another daughter? We haven't been told how many kids she has so it's a decent possibility. What are the chances of the new teacher being her daughter? Flicking through episode 7, the new teacher is called Jung Min Young, she has the same last name as Jung Soo In... coincidence, maybe, since many Koreans share the same last name but theoretically plausible... it'll be an interesting twist for Soo In's older sister to enter her school as a temporary teacher to avenge her... maybe. Or at least to snoop around a bit. After all, whoever is sending these texts must know Soo In and her situation very well.
After watching episode 8, anyone else getting frustrated at the fact that people around Eun Bi just won't let…
Eun Byul was always rather chic and careful so I kind of understand that she wouldn't be so openly friendly with everyone - clearly she has a lot of secrets and perhaps, to her, Tae Gwang was just someone who she couldn't take seriously - I mean, she couldn't even be open and honest with Yi Ahn, her childhood friend, let alone anyone else.
Eun Bi on the other hand, is the opposite. She is friendly and more open to take the side of the weaker or outcasts as we've seen in previous episodes, she naturally has a great sense of justice. Tae Gwang needed someone to accept him as he is and not be called a mental weirdo like everyone else does, and Eun Bi not only sparked his interest, but she also extended a hand out to him when he needed it.
All ships aside, I just kinda hope that Yi Ahn won't go mental on Eun Bi for lying to him. The last thing that she needs right now is someone else to turn her back on her.
It has taken 10 years, but thank you, Seung Chan, for telling Cindy the words she's been needing to hear after all this time :')

I'm waiting for the moment when someone wakes up and episode 4 was all just a really bad -terribly written - dream.
But Geon Woo really can't do anything right without doing some wrong first...
As a viewer, I can't hate him but can't wholeheartedly love him either.
