I've been watching Kdrama for half a decade and I must say I've never seen a Kdrama that has such great female leads! This drama empowers and portrays women in such depth but at the same time its also hella realistic. Most dramas don't even have one female lead like this and even if they do they are highly stereotyped and the characters are rather shallow in terms of morals, ambitions, values and goals. Love the "show you a bad girl" at the start of every ep as well!
seo in guk should really just stick to these kind of genres cos wow, just wow. His acting is actually mind blowing. It really brought out the best of him. Insane talent right there.
I totally agree with you! The characters lived through such difficult and worse times but they died by literally…
I love hina's wink and the way she crinkles her nose. If only I could find a gif.. I am curious as to what happened to Hotaru because we didn't get to see what happened to her after dong mae left for japan. As for Hui Seong my first impression of him was not very good but as the drama progressed i started to like him more and more. Circle was great! I heard something about a season 2? and yes we do have a lot of favourites in common.

ahaha that's actually an awesome idea! we could get more bromance scenes as well, which I must add, were absolutely hilarious. Yes i believe he was coughing up blood due to the opium he was taking. The last episode was spoiled for me which I was kind of upset about. Some person decided to comment on the discussion space for ep 23 about the ending of ep 24 on the website i was watching. After talking with you I was like I should add them as a friend but turns out we already are xD.

oh I didn't mean he actually committed suicide. its just that he knew he was going to die but fought anyway (he essentially led himself to his own death). Although this situation was tight he did not have to end up that way, if he just stayed low and kept a hidden profile. He still would have been able to meet up with others - but then again that's not in his character. Yes i guess people do die easily, but I guess my point was that there were many other directions the drama could have taken. But that's ok - thats how it was written and thats probably what makes it more impactful to us anyway. I guess i just wanted a happy ending (still love it regardless).
Honestly until now I cannot believe that the 2 main leads had a 20 year gap in real life....their chemistry, their interactions and they way their relationship was built, is much better than most of the dramas ive seen... and those dramas only have ages gaps of like 2 years. For anyone doubting the romance - do not! Their chemistry is simply amazing!
Edit: it makes me wander is such precious love does actually exist...
though, I do want to say, they killed them off way too easily... like Eugene could've just stayed on the other…
I totally agree with you! The characters lived through such difficult and worse times but they died by literally the simplest of things. All of them could have been easily saved. Eugene just had to make the soldiers walk into the other carriage and use the japanese man, as a shield whilst he split the train apart . Hina could have easily survived - I mean ae shin survived the blast perfectly fine. Hui seong could have just sought refuge from his parents as his family is rich and this excuse was used earlier on in the series to get rid of suspicions against him. Also why save gu dong mae once from dying and the hands of the black dragon society just to make him an opium addict that essentially commits suicide? (I get its for the dramatic/tragic effects but still... :( But I really do love this drama...i just wish that ae sin and eugene stayed together and that we had more cute moments of them after they left joseon <3
I am struggling to decide whether I should give this drama a 8.5 or a 9. Whilst it as quite good with great acting and was very addictive, there's just a lot of holes in the plot and what happens in each episode that drags it down. But overall still worth a watch. LOVE the main leads <3!!!
So I started really loving this drama and im up to ep 6 where the romance starts between the 2 main leads, and I find it really awkward. Like Jae Yi just hugs Sang Pil randomly after being a bit flirty at the start and the next scene they're literally in bed together... does this awkwardness continue or does their chemistry get better?
I've watched the first 2 episodes, and I am bored. I am having a hard time gauging whether this drama is like…
personally for me the start of the drama was just average. I didn't really enjoy the police academy part but the drama started to become more interesting and addictive once they entered the police force and worked on actual cases. Maybe watch a couple more eps until this point and then if you don't like then drop it?
Actually such a gem. A literal must watch. I only started it because I watch running man and like Kwang Soo but this drama is so much more than that. Highly recommend!
Starts of really cute good and amazing but just starts to drop after ep 12 ish. The ending was cute but unsatisfying? I wish they had addressed and tried to fix the problems that were brought up....still worth a watch though
