Thanks for the rec! I also love Wong Kar Wai films. The reason why I did not add them here was because, they can't really be categorized into melo or romance... For me they are a whole different genre. And Yes, I will watch We Are All Trying Here now that you recommend it! I was a bit skeptical at first, but your description makes me convinced that I may like it! ♡

I understand what you're saying. It's completely right. However it's a mid-2010s drama unlike the ones right now that are curated for an audience with a shorter attention span. For me I think, every scene was worth it. It made me empathize with the characters so much so that it felt like this was my childhood. It's meant to be a nostalgic slice-of-life, which it excelled to portray, by making the episodes longer.
Anyway glad to find a person who also loved the drama 🥹

Definitely not for the weak-hearted MDLers who just want a sweet little romance with a good looking cast. One thing I can say fs is that a lot of people started watching the drama with a preconceived idea in mind. They thought (even myself) that the directors/writers wouldn't dare include actual "cheating" in the drama with such an A-list cast. Now I'm not saying that cheating is okay, neither am I saying that the writing is perfect. For me, I like watching different perspectives of life, even tho it doesn't align with mine. Like c'mon, you like a nice thriller with serial killings in the name of revenge, but can't tolerate a morally grey romance drama?Rating a drama so low because it didn't meet YOUR expectations is just dumb.

Thanks for sharing such a perfect description to address all the controversy surrounding the drama. It's pretty tiresome to see people rating the drama so low just coz it doesn't match their fantasy. Proves the fact that, MDLers just like a idol-drama with the same old plot. Like how dare someone make something unique?

Honestly. I found only Roh Jeong Eui's acting acceptable among the cast, even tho I don't like her. Funny how only she's getting hated, whereas the MLs' acting were trash. Kim Jae Won's crying scenes were not convincing at all, whereas Lee Chae Min felt out of the place. Pretty disappointing, considering how much I liked KJW in You And Everything Else and LCM in Crash Course in Romance:/

it's so underrated that I wanna cry.

Not gonna say that it's a perfect drama, specially not after how they proceeded with the 2nd couple, however this is one of those dramas that is a piece of art, not entertainment. You can see how much thought they put in every scene. The relationship was pretty realistic, and perhaps, very dreamy.

I hate MDL/audience for giving it anything less than a 9.
