I'm sorry, but I feel this was just a lame drama. The acting was pretty poor, some better than others of course. A lot of slapstick comedy, that wasn't funny to me.. the constant 'lets not make Nicha sad' comments.. ooookay? Well, let's marry her and make her whole life sad because he doesn't love her.. It just felt silly without the parent's expectations and pressure like the other versions. The kissing was some of the worst I have seen in a drama, so bad it took me out of the scene. In fact when the ML was holding the FL down on the bed like he was forcing a kiss on her, he actually was holding his lips in a straight tight line against his teeth pulled back as far as he could away from her, it looked comical. I could say this is because of covid, and I would understand , but the kisses that did happen were really pretty bad. The SFL's acting was so bad she barely moved her face and said her lines so practiced and slowly like she was afraid she would forget a word. The hilarious hostage scene where Lookpat whispers where they are going in code to Nicha when the bad guy is on the other side of the room and clearly is supposed to not hear them . She should have just said where she thought they were going. AND why not untie Nicha once you untie yourself? And for Nicha to wait till the day of the wedding is just beyond ridiculous. But I always knew they would make her be the one to break it off because it's written as it's the honorable thing to do to marry her even tho you don't love her.IMO, this is the worst of the versions, they get worse with each remake.. I like this story, but I have begun to think no one can make a good remake. The one thing I liked is they didn't make the SML into a bad guy like previous versions. I am sure this is an unpopular opinion, and I feel bad to the production that put their effort into it, but it's pretty amateurish imo.

I guess I am going to drop this.. too bad, started interesting.. but can't the writers think of something else besides love rivals for this couple? It's bored me enough to start skipping, then I wondered why I was continuing.

I personally don't like this as well as the CDrama and it's not because I am a huge fan of those actors, but I did like them better than the KDrama ensemble. Esp. the FL... But the main difference, even tho you mention they end up at the same place by ep. 17, the eps are 1/2 as long.. I feel it shows in the storytelling, I end up thinking 'huh?' sometimes because of the jump in the story. 'How did he end up in the hospital? How are the second couple together all of a sudden? Are the main couple dating, because they are often out on 'dates' along together? etc... It's important, imo, esp. in story telling, it's not the destination, but the journey.

This drama is kind of cute, but can't compare to the CDrama imo. It's at such a quick pace that I feel I must be missing eps because sometimes there's little continuity between what's happening. Also, the only actor I am impressed with is Yeo Hoe Hyun, who plays SML.. Which is interesting because I felt the same way about the CDrama, the SML was awesome in his role and outshined the rest of the cast, tho I did like them and found the FL pretty adorable.. I feel the same about this version as far as acting goes. It's pleasant, I have never warmed up to the FL actress, she seems too old for the role and trying hard to be perky. The ML has a nicer role to play than the Chinese version, but that character doesn't require a lot of acting.. I am glad they are writing him nicer, truthfully I wanted to flip my desk so many times with CDrama's ML.

I think the first versions were way better, the original Taiwanese and next the Chinese versions..But it went down hill after that and this , imo, is the worst.. It's so slapstick and corny, bad acting for much of the cast, not all. I cannot take this version serious in any way.. I keep waiting for someone to make an awesome version of this story, without the low IQ village people, who are selfish and con artists. I have always found it hard to appreciate the FL's character and her family. Everyone acts so selfish and shady it's hard to like anyone in this story.

These are just my opinions, but put a spoiler tag in case it gives someone concerns.
Loving this really.. it's fun and a little different. I don't worry so much who the man in black is, (I have my ideas) but I know it's coming. Even if it gets altered because she knows, clearly some battle between factions will occur. What I worry about is what will happen to the current emperor. He is written to be a sly but benevolent ruler.. He's funny in his forbearance. He knows there is a match between the main leads which they both deny, so he pokes at it to help them along. Since it looks like a coup will be attempted, I hope he is just put in protective custody, or hidden away, I don't want to see him lose his life. I am not positive this drama will have death of a main character in it, but I have seen many lighthearted CDramas turn dark at the end and so many people die. I don't think that will happen here, but fingers crossed.

While we are led to believe it's that Xie family member who acts as though he is working on behalf of Prince Luo, Prince Luo is not smart enough to know he is being used and is a puppet. I do hope it's that Xie Family member ( can't remember his name, he shot an arrow through the dr.) but I worry it will be Shi Jin. I do hope that's not the surprise twist.

Perfect description of them, and I love that family as well.. They try to be clever, but it's not actually in their ability. I will say tho, I also love them because they believe their daughters dreams. This is unusual in these type of stories. AND, I loved when the mother said they needed to hide some of their money in case they have a downfall. Because I always think why does this never occur to characters in this type of situation, and I love the writers for this. They still went about it in a goofy way, But That's The Ban Family.. I think we all need a TShirt with that slogan, haha

Yes, of course , the path of lessons learned and how it changes characters is part of every story I think. So I never understand why people complain from the get go about characters flaws, mistakes in judgment and etc. Because, like I said, it's part of that story. :)

Well, the point is she's not a perfect Mary Sue Character. If she didn't misbehave and all obstacles were thrust upon her it would be the story I have seen a thousand times. A beleaguered sweet as pie, goofy, clumsy, innocent girl everyone falls for and wants to protect. These are the same type of complaints I read from commenters about Catch the Ghost. The FL was "too reckless", "she made trouble for others" etc.. but that's what the story was about.. Why can't a story be about imperfect people? Why does every ML/FL have to carry all the moral sensibilities of everyone watching? Where is the interest for that anyway? It would be boring. Why can't we watch a story about a flawed character and accept it's part of the story and not something we feel needs correction or is written poorly? Because clearly there will be repercussions for her actions, and again, that's what this story is about.

I am enjoying this a great deal. The FL's character is definitely different from other FL's... She's not just a strong FL, but she is vain, a little spoiled and reckless, straight forward and sometimes cunning, sometimes perceptive. Will stand up for an underdog and punish someone who has slighted her.. She is really a different, fun to watch character imo..Add to that a ML who is 'nerdy', a scholar ( even tho we know he's more than that) , but one who thinks and strategizes before acting and they are a unique and interesting pair. Kudo's to the writers and production team.. altho I am just to ep 11, I hope it doesn't fall into bad old habits later in the drama, but for now I can't wait for more.

I agree she is reckless, but I disagree that she does nothing likable. Even tho she lied, she is a little guileless imo.. She is WAY more straightforward than me, but just like the the commenter said 'she is just this type of girl', and that makes her fun to watch.All the 'guys' that like her, all look like they have their own agendas, except Shi Jin so far.. I am to ep. 11, so I wouldn't be surprised if he might also handle things in a duplicitous way in the future.. It does look like times will get hard, but it also looks like she will stay true to herself also and fight for what she believes. It's clear she is written for these modern times to enjoy, and I am. haha

I am enjoying it so far. Nice chemistry , costume and set design.. I will say the FL's character is hard to pin down, sometimes she's really observant and clever and sometimes she's an vain airhead.. I am only on ep 3.. It's a little hard to ship the main couple as he was just about to have her killed no problem.. so their cutesy stuff isn't working on me right now because of that. And I am not even clear why that would have fit his plan? Anyway, I will continue to watch..

I enjoyed it, I would recommend .. I love Kim Seon Ho, and even if he was SML, so what? It was a pleasure watching him.. He and Nam Joo Hyuk had some funny scenes together.. And it doesn't bother me how it turned out, because his ( character's) choices got him there, it made sense to me.

Sounds interesting, except for the "romance between the king who is a woman and the handsome characters around her".. which makes it sound like a harem.. :/. A romance would be interesting, a triangle a little less fun, a story where the men come and go is not my cup of tea.
