I am a little worried too, because without spoiling too many things, even when Qian Wei and Lu Xun get together…
Phew! Now I'm excited for the 'back to the future' moment. I did not watch the trailer, but if the angst happens in the past, she can simply go back anytime. But, I do wish that the angst isn't 'filler', and leads to meaningful changes in the story. We still have 17 more episodes to go through and anything can happen. Thanks for the info, sulkytofu!

Honestly, the more early a relationship starts in a drama, the more angst we have to look forward to. My hope is that I Qian Wei can't actually change the future as she is attempting to do so. (I haven't read the novel, unfortunately. Does she really change the future?) Things are bound to go wrong. Lu Xun in the past was a pure rival in her eyes. She fell for Chong Wen and that's when she reached a dead end and began over again after Lu Xun reappeared in her life with a straw. She experienced those heartbreaks for a reason: as we see, once she goes back to 2011, she manipulates every single event in her favour. But, can she really go through a smooth journey throughout these 11 years as she hoped? Sigh... I just hope that all that angst we are going to face is worth it in the end. Also, the field of law seems to extremely competitive and corrupted, so the leads have multiple challenges to face both in their personal as well as 'legal' life.
I'm not going to keep my hopes up since 90% of CDramas tend to lose their steam during the latter half of their run. But, from what I've seen, this has a strangely special charm to it. I hope we get to see Qian Wei's growth for 11 years straight -- somethings are just meant to happen , even if we try our best to avoid it. This 'time travel' is a chance for Qian Wei to reflect on how she ended up where she is now in 2022. Also, I'm surprised by Lu Xun -- I expected him to be a cold boss who doesn't care about his assistant, but even before the time travel, we can see that he does comfort her and protect her from difficult situations. Sure, she is getting pushed around a lot, but at the end of the day, I feel like it's her own personal grudge against him that clouds her vision even more. I feel bad for 18-year-old Lu Xun - he doesn't have any grudge towards Qian Wei for snatching his 1st position. But, changing the future/fate has consequences after all... so I'm going to give this drama the benefit of doubt and keep following it.
Thanks for reading, Elena. :)I hope you continue enjoying it. I did not take the drama much seriously. But, brace…
I did notice how 'tiny' Woh Jin Ah looked next to Rowoon. (Never saw her previous works, though. ) I kept my expectations really low for this one -- I had guessed that it was a regular old drama. I've not yet seen Suspicious Partner, but I'll check it out. :)
"This drama is perfect for viewers as a palate cleanser…" - you said it ! It's not something I would normally…
Thanks for reading, Elena. :) I hope you continue enjoying it. I did not take the drama much seriously. But, brace yourself because Sunbae's ex-boyfriend has a lot of scenes too. There is one cliche element near the end, but the drama is really fun as a whole, if we ignore the flaws.
I have a sense of respect for anyone who participates in the challenge. I'm too stupid to understand the block choosing system and never dared to take part in it. 😂
Late to the party, but I just completed the first two episodes. First thing that I appreciate about this drama is how the leads aren't the brightest diamonds. Their personalities are unique clash around a lot. Both of them have their own setbacks and issues. And Kook Yeon Su, to me, doesn't seem really unlikable. Many of her actions indicate that she is just super protective of her feelings and sets her own boundaries. Choi Ung is more on the 'actions speak louder than words' kind of guy. Atleast from what I deduced in the first two episodes. (Loved the analogy with 10 Things I Hate About You. Both the leading female leads are disliked by a vast majority of their classmates.) One thing I find highly disconcerting is NJ's blonde hair. Maybe it's just me, the her outfit or makeup/lighting doesn't compliment it.
Sadly, nope. I wrote this review for the 5 episodes I watched. :(The subber seems to be on an unexpected hiatus.

Maybe he did. But I wonder why he still chased her away
During the 2nd bathtub scene, he believes that she doesn't have any feelings, thanks to their conversations in EP14. But, in the earlier episodes, he suspects that they have a mutual affection towards each other. (I forgot, but there was one scene where he asks her why she goes to extreme lengths to save him. Then the scene where she promises to protect him, the kite scene...) He used to open up about his emotions in hopes that she liked him too, but everytime he brought up the topic, she'll blow the hope away. Plus, all that rejection must've driven him mad by EP15. So yeah... I guess he doesn't know that she likes him.
Maybe he did. But I wonder why he still chased her away
Yi San already knew that Deok Im had feelings for him. Even if she did respond to his kiss, she'll still refuse to be his concubine. Which was what he wanted in the first place. I think he lost his composure after her rejection, and all that emotions turned to anger.
I so agree that Xiaoju needed time, if only they shortened her affection for CL...and I'm curious if you could…
Honestly, I would've probably had Xiao Ju's affections stop around EP25 and let all the angst abate around EP30. Shi Yi shouldn't even have gone abroad, but the drama followed the book too close until EP34. The script for the show incorporated a lot or daily relatable life thingies, so I would've tried to focus on Xiao Ju's personal growth. She was a tragic character whose mind was full of Cheng Lang in the novel, so it makes sense why the whole drama doesn't look convincing towards the end.
But, I do wish that the angst isn't 'filler', and leads to meaningful changes in the story. We still have 17 more episodes to go through and anything can happen. Thanks for the info, sulkytofu!
