I can only talk about what's shown me in the drama that is airing. The things in the novel is irrelevant for my views because neither I have read the novel nor I am going to.
You are writing a story about a woman or let's say a underdog who is abandoned by everyone and loses everything including her own identity. This is a character prime suited for sympathy and makes your job easy for making the audience root for the character.
Instead of writing 100 different storyline to elevate her, you choose the most nonsensical, flimsy plot of female sacrifice which even as a battle tactic would not achieve anything other than 20 arrow shot straight to their guts.
This is straight up emotional manipulation as they expect audience to eat up thinking it is talking about feminism. This is becoming straight up garbage instead of atleast pretending to be a romcom
People are complaining that episodes are only 30 minutes. Mine are only 15-20 minutes after I skip 2ML and those pointless characters that each episode seem to be introducing to increase episode runtime.

She basically confessed like 17th episode. I think this drama will have only last 5 minutes happy ending.
