Viewing is a personal experience, you can hate something and move on but who gives you the right to decide whether…
your particular statement just caught me off-guard so i pointed it out. wasn't getting in on the BL-or-not argument. but if you're going to bring it up...
it's by definiton a BL, especially cause ep 8 makes that pretty clear. but i don't think it's a well-done BL, when it comes to CP. i've expressed this opinion in my other comments as well.
the show tells you they are CP, but doesn't sell it. kind of a waste of the actors' talent tbh. it probably would have actually been better as not a BL or something more tame like hatsukoi. stayed as bromance, subtext, and tension; maybe could even have pushed the envelope in the end. but as it stands right now, CP was too rushed for it to be believable for me. 8 eps was not enough for both plot and CP, and it shows.
Im guessing you were expecting more romance here?🥴If they had done that, the story itself would’ve been overshadowed…
focusing on the plot is fine, but the sudden CP scenes coming out of nowhere legit gave me whiplash. it was so distracting it even took me out of the main murder/mystery storyline at times. it's not about the level of romance, but how well-done the bits we have are, and here they were a rushed mess. which is a shame cause the acting was fine.
i think its a length issue. there was no way to explore both plot and CP in 8 eps. i almost wish there was no romance at all. just subtext and sexual tension would have fit better for what this was.
honestly, 8 episodes was not nearly enough to explore everything this story had to offer. so much so that idek if the blame falls on the writing team. it's such a shame, cause for once we get good acting and a high-quality production, and its a rushed mess.
romance taking a backseat here is absolutely fine, but it was such an afterthought. so much so that I probably coulda done without the CP altogether, despite the actors themselves being able to act. it takes away from the angst the setup provides. the whiplash i got from sudden CP scenes distracted me so much that it even took me out of the main mystery/murder storyline.
What's the problem with it being sexless? You don't NEED sex in a BL for it to be good, and I personally enjoyed…
fake kissing is ridic tho. its not like asian dramas require makeout kisses, just a peck. other BL dramas have done it. if they were gonna do that i'd rather they take the hatsukoi route and not even include kissing.
let me guess is this the genre of drama where there will be some queerbaiting and then in the end the two MLs…
nowhere in the synopsis does it promise bl though? just because a series has bromance doesn't mean it has to end up being bl? guys can be close and not gay??
Are you planning on being the one to do the editing? We are already forming a group, we just need more hands :)
hey! do you have access to HQ versions of the deleted scenes? I'm back home now so I have my editing software. if someone gives me links to everything and timestamps I can edit in the deleted scenes. that might lead to some issues w/ the subtitle timing though? it might be easiest to hardcode the subs then edit the scenes in then.. not sure.
hey so, i'm a BL fan and i gotta say the acting leaves something to be desired (from all of the cast), but hopefully the actors will get settled into their roles with time. the plot itself is intriguing enough and the dynamic between the two MLs is great, although imo it's not coming across completely yet. it took a bit for the Untamed to get going as well so I have high hopes~
also to people saying its "not my type of drama" because they don't like MxM... why are you... watching??????
