SOMEONE CLARIFY THIS :FL breakups up with ML during evening and leaves, so he tries to follow her but is stopped…
This is just my observation: I think FL initially breaks up with ML due to ML's dad. And then as you said ML could not follow FL as his dad stopped him. However, then FL's mom comes with food for the funeral rites, which ML's dad flips over. Then while picking up the food FL's mother feels pain in her heart which later turns out to be a heart condition. And then, FL returns as she is unable to break up with him and therefore cries by the gate of ML's house saying that she can't do it. Then, ML texts her 'Let's breakup'. So, I think she tells people he dumped her beacause she did go back to him even after breaking up with him and cried saying that she couldn't do it(that is break up with him). But then as he texted her that let's break up, she must've felt like he dumped as she did not want to break up with him later on. I hope this makes atleast a bit of sense. However, ultimately this is just my take on it.
