I finally finished it. To be honest, the series started off really strong. I was completely hooked. But in the second half, to be honest, I got a little bored. It felt like they saved all the chaos for the end. It was a wonderful happy ending, but somehow it still felt like something was missing.
I think the fact that the “work” parts were much more prominent than the “family” parts left me a little disappointed. Honestly, Xu Yan’s family was awful, and yet they never really seemed remorseful (?). I wish the drama had focused more on that aspect. Maybe that’s what left me with a sense of incompleteness. Yes, they showed events piece by piece, but somehow it all felt a bit disconnected. (I hope you understand what i mean :D .)
Qiao Lin and Xu Yan’s friendship and sisterhood were truly precious.
Xu Yan giving up her career and trying to stand on her own feet, her intelligence and the way she handled things — those were the most enjoyable parts of the show for me.
Haoming’s character development was satisfying.
The second couple was lovely, but the ex-lover drama felt a bit boring. For some reason, they portrayed it in a very cliché way.
Feng Lei was a total psycho. Completely crazy.
There’s still so much more I want to say, but I don’t really know how to express it. In short, I really enjoyed it. I recommend it to everyone. It’s definitely a series I don’t regret watching.
