I’m proud of Wei Yan. Normally, characters like him let their inferiority complexes lure them off-track by believing the villains’ words and end up choosing betrayal. But Wei Yan’s upright stance here is genuinely admirable. I have real respect for second-male leads who manage to hold on to that kind of integrity.

I understand the justification, but I still don't make much sense. I don't think it makes sense to go to such extremes. I'm almost at the end of the series and I still think the deaths don't make sense. :D But ofc its just my opinion.
