It's taken like 12 episodes to introduce all the background information and characters, but it seems to have finally gotten into the swing of things and I'm enjoying the ride.
I didn't like it so I dropped it even if I started it because of Lee Sung Kyung too, but, in my opinion, try it.…
Age gaps don't particularly bother me so that's a non-issue on my end. Like you both suggest I'll probably pick it up and give it a test run some night when I'm up for a good cry.
I picked this up entirely for Jung Hae In after falling in love with him While You Were Sleeping. Things I love: the main couple are adorable, giggly, flirty, always casually touching each other. Things I hate: everything else.... I know this is a melodrama but my god the characters are frustrating! I just finished episode 11 and, like others have said, it's starting to drag.
The comparison to Itazura na Kiss made me reluctant to pick this drama up because I really hated that manga but I'm up to episode 4 and while the basic trope stands (girl pursues aloof/cold guy) I think the comparison stops there. I don't want to strangle this male lead so that's one big difference.
I'm on episode 23 and one of the things I love is that misunderstanding between the main leads don't happen, there are misunderstandings everywhere else but none between the two of them because they actually talk about things which is refreshing.
One thing that's bugging me is how superficial all of the conflict is, the main antagonists are so obsessed with looks and money and that part of things feels really dragged out? I'm at the point now where scenes that feature the "bad guys" are tedious.
Gotta say I was surprised to see this kind of attitude towards HIV in 2017, from medical professionals no less. Perhaps that speaks to my ignorance over discrimination towards HIV patients but I found it really jarring.
I'm so glad I got spoiled for whether he was still alive or not because this drama kept that close to the vest!
Moon Soo trying to take Kang Doo to a motel might be my favourite thing to happen in a drama ever. And the kiss in the hotel was so intimate to me that I felt like I was intruding!
The only thing I was a little disappointed with was that we never saw the finished memorial garden :(
They are really not giving me much hope with that preview! Honestly, if Gang Doo dies it's gonna ruin this drama for me. I mean it's so great and well worth the watch but going into it not knowing if a lead character lives or dies is hampering my enjoyment a little. I'll be seriously disappointed if he dies and I really fear that's where this is headed.
I was just thinking, as of episode 13 they still haven't really addressed how Moon Soo managed to be saved 4 days before Gang Doo when they were both in the same place. (I think they said she was rescued on day 3 and Gang Doo was the last rescued on day 7 yeah?) It's been bugging me.
I'm suddenly having Somedays Dreamers Summer Skies feels and that worries me. That anime had a similar happy yet melancholy feel to it and I'm still not over the character death.
I avoided picking this up for a while due to all the negative reviews, and while I don't disagree with some of the points made, (for one, the summary is a really inaccurate portrayal of what this drama ends up being) I still enjoyed watching this one (it did start to drag for me around episode 14, and they probably could have clued the story up in 16 episodes instead of 20). Nam Goong Min is delightful in this, I've just spent 20 episodes crushing on him.
I hope the bleeding nose is just a side effect of the medications he keeps n taking rather than a serious illness…
I'm leaning towards the medication/exhaustion because they've repeatedly said he abuses his body and we just saw him not sleep properly for a few days. I don't think it's gonna be cancer or something because they've already done that with Granny, two characters getting a terminal illness seems excessive even for dramaland.
I'm on episode three and its really breaking my suspension of disbelief that there's no staff in this hospital? Like where are the other doctors and nurses, hell, janitors? That run this place? Am I supposed to believe that this hospital and its patients were left unattended all night or that all the staff fled in the earthquake and Hae Sung is the only decent doctor in the place?
I'm going to keep watching because I enjoy disaster movies/shows but I hope this gets addressed because its bugging me.

This was such a fantastic show!
