i also notice it, especially from the chief. turned out the actor is actually a hong konger. so i guess it really is the mix of two.

i think they use cantonese from time to time, but mostly it's in mandarin still

kinda get where you came from. that exactly the reason why it makes me even more frustrated by his character (xiao yiren). not to mention he's also the acting leader of the sect. of course he thinks that gaining "trust" and reinforcement from other sects is more important than listening to his little brother's "nonsense" (as he believes so).

and second brother definitely seems sus to me, esp after today's eps. when fighting with snake king, song mingzhu kinda look like she's helping him to escape and said that he's missing afterward. but idk also tho. might be just an overthink lol.

as for first brother's character development... i think he'll just be being him (for now) from what i see in ep 18 preview. qiushui just told them that feng lang is liu shuifeng. despite qiushui's injuries and remorseful look, the first thing he does is still blaming qiushui for that. actually curious how they will redeem his character, after all we're still halfway through
