I haven't watched this so I can't comment much but I have read the novel and it's the opposite there to the point…
Really? Bison and Kant? I thought it went Bison >>>>> Fadel > Style > Kant myself.
Bison was absolutely THE main character lol. The author's crush was showing big time (this is not me speculating she literally said she only wrote it for Khaotung).
They're only looking skin-deep and let themselves be deceived by Bison's boyish charms and sweet smiles (just…
I think it's actor bias personally. My problem is that I don't care about Bison at all while I'm really enjoying Kant at the moment. I did not expect him to be like this and my biggest fear is that it will go away the second he falls in love for real and then he will be useless. I think that's what most people want though - they want him utterly devoted to Bison and they're rejecting him right now because he isn't. Me, I don't get it but well. As I said Bison is currently almost a non-entity to me.
And yes I think the fact that it is a romance is tripping people up, but right now it's exactly my kind of show. I'm sure that love will happen because it is a romance, but I love the black humor and the fact that currently no one is really all that into anyone for themselves and that everyone is playing a game but poor Fadel who just needs a nap and for people to stop calling him heartless. But also one of my favorite US TV shows is Hannibal so darker romance is kind of right up my alley. I have said before though that I am looking forward to the point when being willing to do anything TO each other becomes being willing to do anything FOR each other and I stand by that.
As for the heartbreak - yes I agree that is a little eyeroll inducing. But again, people are here to see Khaotung cry I think. Me I feel like I see it every drama and every time it feels even more like bait for awards lol. He's the Leo DiCaprio of Thai BL to me, a little. Personally I would love it if Bison reacts with pure fury but I rarely get what I want from these shows, I am definitely not the demographic they're aimed for when it comes to this stuff lol (I still find a lot to love though otherwise I'd leave. A little eye rolling is bearable).
(sorry for the essay. I have a lot of thoughts about this)
They're only looking skin-deep and let themselves be deceived by Bison's boyish charms and sweet smiles (just…
Lol yes. I was reading people acting like Kant drugging Bison was the worst thing that anyone has ever done on the show ever and Kant is irredeemable for it when not even twenty minutes earlier I'd watched Fadel and Bison do the same thing to someone else. It was wild.
The more people get mad at Kant though the more I stubbornly root for him. 🤣
I'm gonna be honest. Morality policing in this show is stupid anyway, but anyone who is watching and genuinely thinks Kant is the worst of the lot is just...mind boggling to me.
Hello, I need help, I saw someone talking about Keen having a partner, in the Heart Killers novel, I read the…
It is implied that he had someone at some point - I don't remember when, sorry, but he says that there was someone that asked him to stop killing and that is why he has been pretending that his hand (?) injury is worse than it is. But that is it. I think he's talking to Fadel when he says it and it's definitely towards the end. Maybe when everyone and their brother shows up to pick Fadel and Bison up from prison?
The people who read the novel of a show that is currently on air are one of the most annoying set of humans I've…
Oh no I'm about to correct you, sorry. But the show isn't based on the novel thank god. The novel was written after the screenplay, although accounts differ on how much the author actually got before writing. And she has said multiple times that she did her own thing with the basic beats.
And that is all I will say I respect people's need to not want to know anything. :D
This comment section is exactly what I thought it would be 🤣🤣🤣
I am begging people to learn the difference between this kind of insane reality vs. any show we're actually supposed to take super seriously. The very fact that they're positioning the assassins as anyone to root for should tell you the kind of show you're getting into from the jump. If you can't handle characters whose morals are all over the place (and highly self-motivated) then stop watching. It's fine. Not every show is for everyone.
Fadel is the best I adore him and Kant is deliciously ruthless. I can't say I like him but I find him the most fascinating of all of them, even Fadel. Bison is meh to me and Style currently has more balls than sense. But it's only ep three there's still plenty of time for that to change.
I do really like the push/pull between Bison and Kant and I hope that it doesn't disappear once real feelings develop. Right now they're pretty evenly matched and I like that.
Fadel and Style are firing for me pretty well, I'm glad that the show seems to be taking more the 10 Things route to them than the OG Taming. I liked Patrick way better than Petruchio.
I like the dark comedy vibe a whole lot, and I'm having fun watching all these people treat each other like crap. Really hope it leads to them all still being insane but with the difference being that instead of doing anything TO each other they start doing anything FOR each other. Sue me, I'm here for escapism and I still want my happy ending, I'm just not expecting any of these dudes to turn into upstanding people because of love (or at least, I'm hoping they won't).
oh gosh. I think I had really high expectations on this series but it's kind of disppointing me. But as always…
This kind of "oh you only like this because it has your faves" thing just makes it look like you can't handle disagreement, fwiw.
Personally I like it because the only character I really care about thus far is Fadel so I can just be amused by watching them do awful things to each other. My faves are immaterial babes I've watched crappier shows than this with actors I didn't even like just to amuse myself.
I wasn't going to watch this one because I read the novel and HATED it, but well. FOMO and all that.
But I will say this: if you had told me two months ago that I would be way more invested in Fadel and Style than in anything Kant and Bison are doing, I would have laughed in your face. But here I am, loving Fadel so much that I can hardly stand it and really rooting for him and Style (I kind of love Style too he's insane and I think Dunk is doing a great job) but caring very little about KantBison as a couple or individually.
I mean, Kant is fascinating to me, and just makes me wish I could see First playing a true villain. I expect people will hate him (I remember how bad it got with Sand during OF and he wasn't even a tenth as cold as Kant is, lol), but I do not. I am gleeful that he's actually way less invested than people want him to be. Right now the only thing that man cares about is his baby brother, and I love it. I did not expect it at ALL I want to study him like a bug.
I feel about Bison about how I expect most people feel about Kant: don't really care. Not sorry. 😝
But Fadel. He's so GREAT and Joong is doing so well. I was never impressed with him before this but now I am, I am SO impressed, if this story goes the same direction as the novel I might actually keep watching anyway just for him.
They're not gonna do something stupid like postpone the next ep til next week for GMMTV 2025 are they?
But also I'm genuinely surprised how fast this show made me turn around on Ken. I think it is how hard he and the twins are fighting for each other - Ken is being stupid and thinking he's protecting them, and they are just desperately trying to get him to accept their help. I love how much they care about each other - it was kind of unexpected because I'm used to the bullies all hating each other, too.
I also think that it did a great job of showing with very little why Ken might have gotten caught up the way he did in the first place, and why he feels so trapped now with no way out. The actor playing him is doing a great job.
I don't think that's necessarily true. Something can be wrong and yet still understandable. Joker should not have stolen the ring. Save should not have given a bunch of people horrible investment advice so that they could be more firmly under Boss's thumb. Hope and Jack shouldn't have done some of the stuff they did while acting as Boss's debt collectors. But al of it was understandable.
I think that people regularly let their sympathy for a character make them decide that they are always right and thus anyone who upsets them is wrong. Or their dislike make them harsher on actions that they aren't as harsh on other characters about. But for me, even if I am furious I try to see where someone is coming. Personally I'm maddest at Save right now, but is he mor at fault than anyone else who did horrible things to get out of debt?
In the end the real issue is Boss. I really hope they don't pull some last minute "oh but he has reasons too" out. Because I do think at some point the reasons stop mattering. Boss isn't being threatened with death or worse if he doesn't do these things, after all. No one has his arms pinned behind his back and his face in the dirt.
I agree with you that Jack has every tight to be upset. He just found out that pretty much everyone he's been trusting lately is working to sabotage not just him but his community. And then he finds out that the reason Boss is untouchable now is because of Joke, right on the hells of his pseudo daughter being chucked off of a building. It's normal and right that he feels some kind of way about all of this. Especially since he was saying earlier that Joke wasn't stealing anymore, so it couldn't have been him that took the ring. It's blow after blow after blow right now.
I feel for Joke too - he did what he did for love and the price is already too high.
Bison was absolutely THE main character lol. The author's crush was showing big time (this is not me speculating she literally said she only wrote it for Khaotung).

It's been 84 years.

At least you're not one of the ones mad at him for daring to betray Bison though. I guess there's that.
Personally I like it because the only character I really care about thus far is Fadel so I can just be amused by watching them do awful things to each other. My faves are immaterial babes I've watched crappier shows than this with actors I didn't even like just to amuse myself.
Does anyone have an idea what will get the Mon/Tues slot?
