You are spot on, the expressions that shown by the both male and femal leads are outstanding specially the crying scenes, it should be weighed as one the best. You have again hit the nail on the head and i too tried to watch love and redemption but I didn't like it much, the actress is a preteen couldn't resemble the god of war even a little, someone aged between 20-25 would have been a better choice i guess and yes ml was always dying and couldn't portray the chracter well and emotions by him didnt seem real but in the end it got way higher ranking than noland, love and destiy and tribes and empires. As for untamed i tried to give it try, went up to 8/9 eps probably but believe me it was sooo boring with the terrible acting, expressions, story, production values are so poor, i just couldn't make it to the 1/3rd even. It was disgustingly bad if i want to put it fairly. These actor can be called as cute sissy/trans with makeup but no where near to be called as handsome or masculine for god sake like the hollywood/european actors like keaunu reeves, tom cruise, brad pit, val kilmer, ryan reynolds and so many or even to the asian actors like some indian actors as hrithik rosan then donnny yen, andy lau, jang huk etc (couldn't pronounce the name properly) though few of them have aged a bit they were the epitome of good looks, handsomeness and masculinity but the actors you mentioned like xiau zhand and many like him are simmply unmanly, effiminate sissy/trans etc and if anybody wants to characterize as trans god (not male god or female god) then these actors would have been suitable.

If you want to consider these sissy body languages with lipstick without conversations , as subtle form of romance, that has been by your logic able to successfully express the spiritual meanings that you can even feel despite not having any words within them, I suppose i should have never replied to your comment on the first place and should have got back into watching duly acted dramas with good conversations. And by any means if these are seemed to be as romantic undertones of gay then i beg to say that these are basically sissy/trans themes that you have probably misunderstood as gay cause these tones are common in west and european dramas on trans though they don't use lipstick as makeup ;)

Exactly. I can name few more dramas like tribes and empires, novoland eagle flag etc that didnt get the recognition they deserved that is sad and if people of cognitive bias are the majority here that are giving the ratings, the overall rating will definitely go down. As for the untamed i tried watching it but couldnt get passed episode 10 honestly and apart from the terrible acting, disgusting body language by the ML trying to be like womanish with bad expressions, bad choreography, poorly orchestrated fighting scenes etc it had nothing more to offer that could hook me up with it but yet it has got way higher rating than the dramas i mentioned that are of sheer masterclass. And you are right we shouldnt rely on the ratings of this site at all.

Just finished it watching and it's just amazing but at the same time I'm pretty disappointed with the rating it got, it surely deserves way better. The acting is top-notch, the fighting scenes are superb, the storyline is great, the actors are matured (if you look for a girlish face with lipstick as Male Lead, you should drop it, this drama is surely not for you) and the ending is pretty satisfactory too, highly recommended.

I tried watching it and went upto 10 episode but tbh there is nothing in it that can hook me up into it. Silly acting, bad choreography, bad costumes, bad fighting scenes, all together with its not worth it, and what i feel it got such a higher rating is because of having cheesy BL scenes and people who are fond of these, grouped together and praising it. These people are like ohh, look the ML is so sweet, I must give it a good rating rather than ignoring the content in it. I have seen few other chinese and korean dramas that got bad ratings but they were truly masterpieces like scarlet heart, novoland eagle flag etc. I think you should try few episodes without reading the comments and reviews and you will eventually find out is it worth or not.

The best chinese drama I've ever seen and one of the top 5 in my list that includes series like rome, deadwood, west world, game of thrones and vikings. Watching Novoland for me was like getting into a historical fantasy world where getting out of it is completely impossible cause it is so addictive that gives you no choice but to stay focused until it ends. The cinematography, politics, strategies, handling complex situations, sacrifice, emotions, story build up, fighting scenes and portraying those tensed moments before the war starts, were absolutely fascinating and the ending gives us a hint that a lot to come in the season 2. In a word it is an epic masterpiece (Had no idea that china can make such series) but what has startled me is the rating it has got in this site that is extremely low and was thinking what's wrong here until I come to the comment sections and got to know why. Honestly to the people complaining about no romance (don't know what do you mean by this), boring, long, dragged a lot etc, this series is not for you and you better stick to some cheesy BL romantic series and satisfy your instinct.

She is such a great actress and everything including her expressions, beauty, charisma and even the way she talks is just unique. She is simply my most favorite.

the author who wrote the story surely lacked some sense that the lead character proved in the drama with good significance. He has a disorder of switching lovers one after one super fast. spenidng even a day time to mourn for his dead lover is a waste of time so he immediately proposed another one. he is so brainless and stupid that he even didnt ask bubai why she killed so many people and without knowing stabbed her and then said he didn't mean it lol. he was unsure about who took him to the temple for treatment though he knew it was bubai accompanying him all the time. at the end when they meet for the last time he said where is the pill without thanking her for saving his life once again from ying's father and stabbed her again just unnecessarily when she replied that the poison has no cure. then again he said he didn't mean it. what the hell with the script writing! for me he is just a cheater and dishonest as a person who always ignored all the bad deeds of his master. acting had also been poor and the expressions he made looked simply fake. The main attraction is the character of dong fong bubai. the actress plaed that role is just amazing and her beauty surpassed everyone else by a mile, had all the emotions and expressions too to make this character an unique and unforgettable one.
