Excuse? Did you even watch the drama correctly? She was barbaric in her first life from her trauma. She treated ZZ like shet and control him. You really need to double check before you say she wasn't barbaric. Being toxic and harass other does not always have to be physical. Also, not only men can be barbaric but women can be too. Only difference is XW wasn't given a second chance like the FL did. He didn't reincarnate to fix his mistakes like the FL did. You can't deny that fact that she haven't done anything "bad". The whole point of this drama is her redemption.

It may seems like he is trying to control her for the most part of the drama. But, I think he doesn't want anything bad happen to her. He (as a teacher) keeps having to remind his student to not get in trouble is frustrating especially when they are in imperial palace. But hey, that's everyone when they are young. JXN is a troublesome maker, if you continue to watch it.

I completely understand and agree that she does have her own freedom to do what she wants. But, some of the things she done could've gotten her kill (like FOR REAL). From my pov, there's a lot of misunderstandings and miscommunication between the both of them throughout the drama because of certain things.

Also, with a mix of trauma in his personality and feelings (in drama its mentions dementia, but it looks to me like he has double personality). Thus, it looks barbaric when it is physical. He has troubles with his feelings because he tends to suppress it, so his enemy doesn't know his plans and hurt the people he cares and love. He didn't even know why he felt so strongly towards her, until later on and realizes he likes her. When someone goes through trauma of close family's betrayal, it really makes you questions and challenge your feelings about people in general.

Also, he did tell her to leave him if anything bad happens because she can leave and he wouldn't care if she did so (cave moment). He then ask her why she didn't leave and she literally gaslight him with no answer again. He knows she has feelings for him. When people gaslight you it sometimes really messes with your mind a lot. XW portray it very well in this scene (although it looks barbaric and forceful). If she just gave him all the damn answers when he ask her then all hell break loose. Everything would have not so hard for him to understand and be physical.

Also, the episode before this cave scene. She backs out (want to leave palace) when she was done using him. Which is kind of assholey in a way. Imagine helping someone after all the hard work you put in and they suddenly just decide to one day, throw it ALL of it away. She literally told him to help her get the princess back and he promise her. Then, she goes 360 saying she can't save the princess anymore and quits. Like wdf mang? Just something to think about.....

Anyhoo, I have watched Scent of Time. I also wanted the bodyguard and FL to be together. They have better couple scenes throughout the drama compare to the ML.

This is just my personal opinion, but I think ZZ is too good for JXN. In the sense, where his values and goals are always righteous. ZZ's belief is to go by the laws. He should be with someone that has the same beliefs, values, and goals as him. If he stays with JXN, he will just end up resenting or doing things for her even though he doesn't believe in or do. Although, he does love her enough to just break laws. I don't think love is about breaking your values and goals. Also, he didn't blame JXN during his first lifetime. It was because it was his fault for falling the wrong person. That's why he would only blame himself and not her. He knows better.

As for JXN, she isn't the right person for him because she doesn't do things by law or righteous. She manipulates and uses people just like XW. The only difference is how she approach from her first and present life. In her first life, she uses people for her own gain in order become the empress. She got many people framed and kill. In the present, she still did it, but in a way to benefit her situation and the people around her. Therefore, still breaking the laws.

In a realistic sense, I don't advocate XW's toxic behavior in the drama or in real life. However, this is just drama. So I just enjoying something that I know I wouldn't have in real life. Plus, both actor and actress are hot. So, why wouldn't I like some steamy scenes ;]

If I had to choose one of the male lead for her, I would choose XW. Both of them are similar in values and goals. They also think very similar to one another. He also challenges her and remind her to always be careful when she does things because he knows her. Also, he is usually hard on her because he cares a lot.

You also have to take into account that he has his trauma with his past. That is something that he can't get away from. JXN just happen to be the person who shown that she didn't want to him to die or have the intention of killing him. Thus, making him fall for her and becoming obsessive over her.

Lastly, there is a fine line where XW should not push it onto JXN. But, if you watch the drama. JXN gaslight XW's questions despite him questioning if she had feelings for him. She isn't being transparent with XW because most of the time she thinks back to her past life of him. BUT!!!! In the past, XW gave her the knife to protect herself from YL. And, not for her to kill herself.

Finish the drama and loved it!!! I really wish it could’ve been longer….reeee

I agree, I like the pace of the drama so far. Also, I love how XW is slowly gathering his courage and trying to express his feelings towards JXN. It's so cute, gentle, and lovely.

I only made a comment about the latest two episodes and the next episodes previews that I saw. I didn't ask for your opinion when I made the comment. If I did, I would have made a comment with the question about your thoughts about the episodes. Also, there is no fault to watching a drama for particular reason. Everyone has their own reasons for watching.

She didn't know about the plan between the emperor and XY. She has the choice to go see her best friend before he gets exile because she may not ever see him again. You can be saying she lack in self control in the drama. But, you as a watcher can't even control yourself, while watching this drama as a third person point of view. Also, get off of people's back for your own lack of self control.

Just finish the latest episodes, Bailu, WXY and everyone did their acting really well in the episodes. I personally don't blame JXN on her decision for trying to rescue ZZ because her memories of XW (wasn't the best). Also, she just really want to save ZZ because she couldn't in her last lifetime. She owes it to him alot and she doesn't really know XW's true intentions (XW didn't tell her about the plan). It just a lot of misunderstandings. I can't wait for the next episodes of the love triangle and the romantic scenes lmao.

I just started this drama and so far I like the storyline so far. The CGI isn't the best, probably due to low budget. However, I recommend to keep watching for the storyline.
