I agree with you that the mom is being to harsh to her own daughter. But don't forget how she is a soldier as well. She is indeed being harsh but I can see that she wants the best of her daughter. She wants SS to grow up as a independent woman.

The FL is the best. She speaks for herself and doesn't let anything affect her. Her mother is the most annoying character ever. Why would she compares her own daughter to someone else. their children's are more smarter then her. I mean CSS she never had a mother or father besides her. Doesn't a mother have to make up for her childhood. Why would she keep saying rude things about her own daughter.

Han Pu saved bai fang xi and died in the war. Bai fengxi sacrificed herself by putting a sword in the canon. She saved everyone in the war. Lanxi wants to save bai fengxi so he went to tianjin master. Because of saving bai fengxi he had to lose his live where he only have 10 years to live. Bai fengxi and feng Lanxi killed yu wuyuan and gave the world to huang chao. They both left everything behind and went to chuang hu. They lived happily ever after.

Is it me only because I really liked the ending. Lanxi only have 10 years to live but they get to be happy living those 10 years to the fullest with their loved ones. Bai Fenxi never liked to be in the imperial. She wants to be free and living with her loved ones. Now she have Lanxi who is by her side. I mean those 10 years are for them really happy and all. I’m happy for them. I hope they will always gets to be happy with eachother!
