If u asked my opinion i wouldn't compare them but i saw many saying ming made them remember vegas as a comparaison. For me he didn't made me remember vegas bcs it s not the same type of profiling. I agree with all the word you said but ming is a 100% narcissistic character not just a little bit.
For the part that when joe died he figured out ... Etc in my opinion it s not like that type of person ming need always someone to nourish his self esteem by loving him ( a victim i mean ) that s why he need joe not love

U know when u are in relationship and u are asking yourself repeatedly i feel he is interested but i dont know he acted somehow interested and not interested... That s the nice victim project it open a door for nice people such joe to care to think to try to understand... That s why joe was the perfect victim

Ming is a narssic manipulative character the problem with narcissic character that he looks great in beginning it made u want to be his partner , that why i guess everyone and even me were thinking why joe is saying that ming gonna destruct his life ? While watching the two first episode

Let me explain more , the sadic he feel pleasure when he torture his partner, the masochiste feel excited when he was tortured
Now the narssicic , the narrssic choose always the more shining person and with that i mean the good character the innocent the lovely the honnest etc to be his victim as he want to feel loved , the narssic feel in power , confidence everytime he see his victim search him and when his victim stop searching him he will be evil and made his life a hell . In the narrssic vocabulary you dont have the right to choose that s why here we see how bad ming become the moment joe wanted to break up .
Let me tell you if joe didnt die he will make his life miserable even if he come back to him and he will never can escape him until he die

That ming made me feel so angry ... He has a narcissistic complex charecter manipulative when he felt joe s gonna go from him he become aggressive, and playing the victim after being sweet , obseesive etc ... That really a character to manipulate the feeling of your partner ..

I think adding the idea that joe loved tai was the stupidest idea that the writer added . The development of love between joe and nat was complicated and slow we dont need extra idea when the writer cant give the time development for joe to move on .
