it was good but…
Ok it’s my first time leaving a review here but anyway…This drama was really cool but I watched it because of the reviews and scores i saw about it and they were pretty good so i was excepting much better.
yes it brings comfort, you can enjoy it without any effort and it’s not emotionally involving but sometimes it’s really empty and even though the production was good, sometimes the acting was a bit off. I fell in love with the ost btw, i spent some times looking for it on spotify.. and noey’s character is really interesting. I think to be honest that the drama had good potential but something in the making of the drama or in the screenplay was off and it sometimes killed fluidity.
good drama overall but personally, i don’t get the hype…

key word : mid
OK so how to say this… everything in this drama was slow and boring. It wasn’t awful but clearly we’re far from the bl of the year.the main issue is not the fact that it was slow because slow burn romance is a good trope you know but when you add to slowness something boring… it doesn’t match well. I’m not gonna talk about the acting and the weird alchemy between the characters because it’s not like it was the only korean bl to have those kind of weird alchemies between characters (for instance oh my assistant lol) but it didn’t help me to really enjoy the drama.
if you’re looking for something fun and not too deep and difficult to understand you can try this (it’s not that fun tho) but watch it without any expectations.
Anyway.. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t good. it was mid.
reminder : this is my point of view and i think it’s important to try to watch dramas if you’re interested in them despite the reviews you might read about it because we never know and that would be a shame to miss a masterpiece from ur point of view because of reviews.

I can’t move on
To begin, i’m a big fan of EarthMix, i’m always falling for their alchemy, their acting and just.. them.I had big expectations since A Tale Of Thousand Stars is one of my favorite bls and really meaningful to me and oh dear, i wasn’t disappointed at all.
Moonlight Chicken is not a drama that can make you dream with stars in your eyes, instead it tells you how reality can be, how sometimes you can’t find the solution you wanted to your problems, it teaches you a lot.
I enjoyed every seconds of it, all the characters had something to say, a lesson to teach. The acting was incredible for good sake, some scenes between Fourth and Earth were breathtaking. The production, the settings, they were all good and well thought. Everything was perfectly balanced, it’s the first time I can’t find a real flaw to something I watched.
I could talk about it for hours and go deep in details but I will stop here by saying : Moonlight Chicken is a must see, you can’t be disappointed.

Mother, a near live action adaptation of Labour by Paris Paloma
Mother, I can't find a better word to describe this drama. It tells the story of different mothers, all connected.
It tells the urge to survive, not only to survive but to live ; to fight for your life, to protect your loved ones. The song Labour by Paris Paloma kept coming in mind while I was going through the episodes.
Even the most angel like characters had flaws and the most devil like characters showed at least some humanity. Nothing was all black or all white. The main character made mistakes, was sometimes selfish but full of love. She was a mother.
The title says it all.

Don’t worry, be happy
I saw a lot of comments complaining about the lack of credibility of the 15 years on a deserted island storyline among other stuff. Watching Castaway Diva for the credibility of the plot is actually missing the whole point and meaning of it. She could have stayed 5, 10, 15, 20 years on this island — even if it’s not realistic —, the message would have been the same. Despite all the worst hardships, the characters remain decent, kind and full of hope.Everything in this drama suggested that the storyline would be full of misunderstandings, miscommunication, tears but not at all.
The strength of Castaway Diva is without a doubt the characters. All the main and lead characters are all lovable and when we think they could turn badly, take wrong decisions, they stand their ground and never disappoint.
I enjoyed this drama for these two reasons : a cute storyline that is not here to be credible but to share a positive message, and the characters.

The Light In Your Eyes left me confused.
I didn't expect this drama to turn out like this. I wouldn't say that I didn't enjoy it but it took me off guards. The original story in itself is something we've seen before, a main character in her twenties with big dreams but no achievements nor love life, who meets a guy, ... But then we mix this basic plot with some sci-fi with time manipulation to finally erase this sci-fi thing and end up with another plot.
I felt like I was watching 3 different stories with familiar characters. I found the "plot twist" brilliant but maybe the idea was more interesting than the drama itself. I knew what they wanted to convey but it was poorly executed.
I don't think I would recommend it as I don't even know myself if I enjoyed it...
! SPOIL !
Some details actually made sense : her strong bond with her dad who happened to be her son, her helping her mother who happened to be her daughter in law at the hairsalon who was once hers, the breaking point being her wanting to save her dad/son from the accident, the watch being important for her and the "trigger".. And thats maybe all.
The comedy around her "brother" felt unnatural, the whole love story about him and her best friend felt forced and boring. I didn't get who was JoonHa in the first storyline when they meet because at the end he's a doctor with a different name and the real Joonha is long gone... Everything felt messy and rushed.
It felt like 3 different chapters
1. A girl in her twenties falls in love with a guy who made her life perception change
2. A girl with a mysterious watch suddenly gets old and watch a young man she loved go down and tries to help him
3. A lady is diagnosed with Alzheimer's and we learn about her past life (which doesn't connect with the previous parts)
The last part was the most interesting one. They could have erase the ten first episodes and the end would have been the same. Alzheimer's was accurately represented. If they had decided to go all in with the Alzheimer's plot, we would have seen a masterpiece.
Anyway, The Light In Your Eyes left me confused.

Like a butterfly
Navillera is one of those dramas that leaves you with a life lesson.I knew it wouldn't be easy to watch Navillera because of its serious theme. The synopsis gives you the story from the start, you learn nothing drastically new as you go through the episodes but all the emotions you experience along the way are the real thing. You learn about sacrifice, empathy, love, family, patience, tolerance and redemption.
As for me, it was a painful yet beautiful watch. I thought about my grandfather the entire time. I miss him deeply every single day. He was an amazing singer and also suffered from Alzheimer's. I couldn’t help but think that what Shim Deok Chul was experiencing, his fears, and his unanswered questions could have been what my grandpa experienced too. For the first time since he passed, I felt truly close to him again.
And for that, all I can say is thank you.
