Clearly you don't get my point, i don't compare the STORIES, i compare the overall QUALITY. As a 'sequel', and long wait, many of us expect at least the same quality between these two.
Don't wanna sound ranting, I'm just sharing my honest opinions.
1st of all, I'm a huge fan of TMOPB, then I read Pillow Book right after I finished TMOPB series and re-read the books just couple weeks ago.
tbh, I'm so happy they finally air this with the same leads, after waiting for ages. but, i kinda disappointed with the costumes, cinematography (prefer the beautiful color scheme in TMOPB, this one looks too bright and pastely color), songs, and some casts (I miss Zheyan, Baizhen from TMOPB, and what happen to Ah Li ㅠㅠ)
I like the PB novels, I hope they don't really alter the story (I agree with most of the comments, they use too many filler, the book didn't mention any stone or JH in mortal arc, and it's alrd 18 eps, yet it's far from the main story)
It might sounds like ranting, but I like DongFeng couple so much, and after watching TMOPB and waiting for ages, sure it comes with higher expectation.
of course i'll still continue watching, and i hope the next episodes won't be such a let down...

He promised to wake up because he didn't want to disappoint people who cared for him, whom is Si Yin. then after he woke up, the girl had alrd a mom and a wife of his twins.
tho if i were Bai Qian, i wouldn't have known Mo Yuan had always been in love with me, so i'd choose Ye Hua since he expressed his love and fight for it.
i thought so til maybe ep40, but now after all his sacrifices (i consider it as payment/karma for his cowardness) he had made for Bai Qian, my heart starts to melt. And not to forget how good he's raising little riceball
dear writer..... there's room to be one of the best drama adaptation, why did you ruin it by changing the story? what a waste of wallace's superb performance.

i dropped goblin too for the same reasons, but i'm still watching this. it's not predictable at all for me at least (maybe because i'm not smart or so kkk).
jisung's acting is 10/10 as usual, story's good too. while Um Ki Joon, never drew my attention before, but wow... he actually plays his 2 roles perfectly. i really hope yuri doesn't make me drop the series.
