I agree with everything you said. If this was a series made popular in America I bet the ratings would go through the roof. I can't believe people are missing out on this dime.
I 100% agree with what you said and I appreciate you taking your time (and courage lol) to write this review as it goes against popular opinion. Now let's not pretend that we all watch dramas because we know it's real. IT'S NOT. As a spectator, we've consciously chosen to be naive but that doesn't mean we can let go of UNLOGICAL SCENARIOS.
Secondly, I thought it was interesting how you mentioned the « constantly trying to kill the main character or cause him/her to be heavily injured» is getting redundant because I find it too. At this point, we know the main characters can't be killed as they're the crucial elements of the story so why waste that time? Like you said: « make us feel more emotional? Make the drama more impactful? »
As for me, if I skipped more than a few episodes (5) to finally get to the more important parts then that means the story wasn't captivating enough for me to not want to miss any dialogues.
omg ahahahah I agree for Shin Se Kyung but Han Hyo Joo? Omg girl, give her a chance I'm going to try and show you her potentiel, have you watched the movie « Always » ? She's the main lead with So Ji Sub (my soon to be husband) you should give it a try :) and if you're still not convince after that... the case is close! LOL
Dude..I just finished this drama seconds ago and wanted to see other reviews about this and yours described 150% of how I felt about L&D. I agree with you about the FML her acting feels very natural and she can change her personnality to each character so effortlessly it was fun to watch. Has it not being for her I think I would've dropped the serie a long time ago. When I first started watching I was so sure that this was the drama that I wouldn't skip any scenes...but I skipped at least 20 episodes to get a little bit more of actions. The Yun Feng and Qing Yao couple was sooooo boring urggghhh. Every time they would appear on screen I'd skip the whole episode. I just didn't.feel.the.chemistry!!! Loved reading your review!
The OST is driving me crazy over and over over and over.. And the song sucks to me does not match the drama at…
Thank you!! Omg, I thought I was the only one thinking like that. Can we get more korean osts? I hate that song that always come when there's something good or bad happenning T_T
Ok so I just finished watching the entire series and it's now 1:39 am. Just to let you know I started this on Sunday so I literally spend 4 days straight to finish it. Now was it worth it? Yes. What made me continue to watch it until the end even tho I was aware of the sad ending? ( Yea spoilers ruined it) I wanted to see how far Lan Po ( Elvis Han) was willing to sacrifice his life for his wife or if he wasn't going to. I think that sometimes his actions are rude and very rough towards Qin Sang but that's his way of protecting her. I wanted to see if he was going to change and be softer with her, I mean the girl is pregnant for Christ sake! It just amazes me how she's still with him after all of this. I guess she truly loves him, therefore, she understands his intentions. Ok so... This is what I understood from the last episode, (now this is my interpretation it might not be the same for everyone else) I felt like he valued his family a lot and maybe so much to the point where he was willing to leave his wife with his past lover and stay back to fight with his brother ( they were just facing a life and death situation a few moments ago, I'm telling you this is a real roller coaster). I find it weird because all his life he didn't know how to love and I thought that when he met Qin Sang he finally understood how to. Anyways, those 50 episodes were filled with unexpected moments and the music in the soundtrack really goes well with the drama. I hope you'll watch it, I know it's a sad ending but I tell myself that if I was that affected by the characters then it means that the actors did their job and I still get to see them in other movies so cheer on! :)
