The casting for this show is so disappointing. The source material is highly inappropriate for 15 year olds to play which means it's gonna be heavily watered down and honestly, who wants to watch that ?? I agree with you, I also thought that actors that accept roles in BL do it for fame and because they don't really have other options (even thought I love and respect them, don't get me wrong). But when I saw that a thousand people auditioned I actually cried a little.
So I just completed this drama (binge watched it to be accurate), and I can officially say that we finally have proof ! Proof that Baek Seung Jo/Naoki/TenTen/Zhi Shu doesn't have to be such an a**hole to Oh Ha Ni/Kotoko/Taliw/Xiang Qin to still look cool and mysterious. And not to give her what she wants from the beginning. Although I LOVE Itazura Na Kiss and all its adaptations, this drama was way above it. The characters are way better here, the love between the main leads is so cute and sweet it makes you feel good and optimistic. I loved it !

First, I'd like to say that I red your comment before watching this drama so I was already biased and still, I feel like I'm not watching the same drama you described.
I'm only 6 episodes in, and there already have been lots of times where we could see Li Zheng being jealous of Jin Li, even imagining scenes between Shao Xi and Jin Li and wondering why he's jealous. He even manipulated the father into making him tell Shao Xi to go buy a gift for the mom so she couldn't go to the movie theater with Jin Li.
Plus, there are tones of things that he does that gives us no doubt that he loves her in a romantic way. The only reason nobody in the show is noticing is because he has no friends. By the way he looks at her and treats her, it's so obvious. He just doesn't understand it yet.
I read comments like yours because I want to see what the drama is about, to see if I'd like it. Thankfully, I red other comments and seen a trailer that convinced me to watch it as I very much enjoy the show so far. It's okay not to like a drama, not to be interested for whatever reason, but it's not honest to lie or exaggerate that much.
