I don't know enough about cinematography to know the term for it but why is the background blur so insanely high? Shots feel very very much like the subject is in a small green room with the background poorly added in post. Compared to Pursuit of Jade which felt like they're actually in the world.

The lead couple is great but Fang Mujing and Qu Hua are keeping me interested. They are so great together.

I wish we had the writers' info/credit. That way I can avoid wasting my time with their future works. If they haven't moved on from the love triangle trope in 2026, I doubt they ever will.

It's been a while but IIRC the leads don't die but also don't end up together. ML ends up marrying someone else for political reasons.

Hoping they change the ending in the adaption. The novel ending was horrible. All that heartbreak and struggle just for it to end without the leads ending up together.
