JITD never had a release date, and It wasn't approved by anyone higher up, govt. etc. One of the few 'debates/reasons'…
but don't they get approved by that bureau before airing? if they do not meet the conditions, they are edited till it's approved or not released at all? hasn't it always been like that? and yeah danmei adaptations banned completely. so that means jitd was released illegally?
if they released it without supervision that means they had thrown jitd under the bus for no reason.
youku is way dumber than i thought if they actually hoped they could release it silently. i mean the book has a lot of fans and any danmei adaptation will 100% make noise regardless of which book it is adapted from. either because of the fans or antis who are fans of other danmei books.
and a big platform like youku could not possibly rely on the assumption that "yeah no one will notice" , they must have someting or someone to back them up.
i'm just sad, mo du is one of my favorite books and having a live adaptation is a blessing but as i said it feels like it's thrown under the bus. it's just so unfair because why would they release it when bl content even subtext is certainly banned? it's the dumbest decision ever

i want to be positive. i think behind closed doors some positive changes are happening slowly regarding bl adaptations. for the entertainment industry it means money and even the 8 episodes still being on the platform gives me hope. on the other hand they even changed the characters' names and added this weird scifi thing to avoid serious psychological discussions about human nature and human tendency to commit crimes but idk. out of all adaptations mo du is one of the most risky ones because the novel deals with a lot of seriuos topics from corrupt policemen to crimes committed because of poverty. cults, criminal gangs, child trafficking, rich people getting away with everything, ptsd, child abuse... it portrays how country, society and even family can fail you. it has everythig they would like to avoid showing.
youku is a bad platform overall but even for them it was dumb to release jitd in my opinion. not because it's adapted from a "bl" novel but beacuse of its themes. but... it was airing right? it wasn't just me dreaming? it had gotten the approval or whatever it is called. which means they found a way to showcase these heavy themes (because even censoring some stuff wouldn't be enough). so then why don't they release the rest of the episodes? it's been over two months.
maybe... some liberties were given to some big platforms regarding bl adaptations. but jitd had gotten negative attention because of that photo issue and considering the fact that drama has a lot of uneasy topics, they halted it to avoid more slandering.
but.. isn't two months enough? this question makes me think some really delusuonal things... ehem. i think, very soon, as long as there is no obvious romance, bl adaptations will be allowed to air again. actors will be able to promote together etc. and youku wants to milk this obviously, so it's why they are waiting.
even though in any case we won't be able to witness fei du and luo wenzhou's endless and shameless flirting, i'll take everything. just release the episodes.

for once i want to be positive (or delusional) :D

in in a weak?....damn. I'm such a slow reader.
i was just like you on my first read, that urge to jump to the conclusion, i had it too. nevertheless it was very enjoyable both times and i'm not into crime stories at all. but yeah, as you said, priest is a genius. hope the remaining episdoes can be aired soon so i can fill void i'm feeling after finishing the book. i genuinely think that reading slower is better in this situation, enjoy it to the fullest!

in in a weak?....damn. I'm such a slow reader.
it's my second time reading so i was familiar with the names and complicated events, plus i did nothing but read whole weak but when i was reading it for the first time two years ago it took me soooo long to complete especially the last book because it has many plot twists and a lot of characters, i was struggling to remember everthing . but it's so well-written and clever. and the dynamic of the main couple is everything it's so much fun to read their flirting but it's slow burn so it takes some time to get that point (two books xd) but this time cases were more enjoyable for me and psychological side of it made so much sense with my current knowledge so i was determined to read it all during my free time

Title Justice in the Dark Spoiler
I thought it was because of the fiasco with Blackpink.
so they wanted to keep it low key from the start but the scandal brought way too much attention... hopefully they haven't given up on the show yet and will release the episodes even it's months later

Me, too, I was crying at that scene when Qin Shi read her mom's letter. Reminded me of the day my mom had to "give…
i hope homesickness is not too hard on you. wishing you all the best in your life <3

Totally agree. when i feel like i understand why she stays with him, it just becomes unbearable to see them as a couple next scene. it makes it more realisctic though. maybe there will be a resolution in ep27 judging from the teaser but i am not hopeful at all. still, i'm very curious to see her growth and decisions.

and yes, even though it started very unconventionally, qin shi and yang hua's relationship shows that respect and understanding is the most important thing, whilst the other two lacks that.
sorry for my bad english!

On She and Her Perfect Husband Nov 30, 2022
really really enjoyed recent episodes. li dali and qin shi scenes are so fun to watch now, hope they have their own firm together at the end of the show. i shed some tears when qin shi read her mother's letter on the wedding night, it was really touching. i love how realistically they portray problems of women with different backgrounds. whether it be at workplace, home or daily lives. qs's mother, li dai, eldest brother's wife, meimei... just don't understand where they are heading towards with ren meimei's character. hopefully she will divorce her husband or have some sort of satisfactory win for herself even if she insists staying in the relationship. after all, there are so many women who chose to stay in emotionally draining relationships for many different reasons like guilt, manipulation, or financal situtiations. we'll see i guess, but i must say, ren meimei is very realistic character, i might even say the most realistic, so i understand why her and her husband's scenes are rather boring for drama watchers. regardless, even with the "villains" like the boss and wu fei, they are doing a great job showing the struggles women face daily. hopefully qs will leave the firm very soon. and yang hua is indeed the perfect husband. title is not misleading at all :D their relationship is progressing nicely. even though they are in their conflict era now, it's fun to watch. literally my favorite drama of 2022! so glad i picked it up.
