more than half of the drama on this list are definitely not underrated.. the under 50K watchers on MDL doesn't mean that it's unpopular, cos I think only a handful of drama fans/viewers use the app..

What's with this obsession of using the word cuckold? I just don't get it.. When you watch a foreign drama, especially those with historical settings, you can't judge it with your own cultural values n modern mindset.. In Chinese history, each era had different customs and rules...n they weren't always as conservative as it's generally thought to be... In certain era, it's not unusual for royalty to have political marriages, then not share a bed with their legal spouses unless they want offspring. It's also not unusual for princesses to have bed warmers or have fun with male courtesans... SRQ was a LR bed warmer...But more than that, he's her childhood crush, her friend (she believed that they're on the same side) n also her advisor, because there's no denying that SRQ is a smart and insightful person.. she had a legal husband, but also had a "eunuch" as her closest confidant... the rules of the time didn't prohibit it, cos they could only cuddle at night, not produce offspring that would be a "disgrace", so whatever.. PWX, in general, was not looked down upon either, cos from the beginning, their marriage was just a political marriage arranged by the emperor to balance the power... n later on, as prince consort, hi used his talents, influence n resources to arrange a solid foundation, gather followers and climb up to become prime minister to balance and suppress the power of noble families which eventually led by LR.. so it's more than just a simple love story..

in the "confession under the rain" scene he told LR that the plan he showed her on their wedding night was a test, a push, to make LR realize her true feelings... but the way I see it, at first he was also confused, cos he has a lot of regrets in the past n he thought that LR was never love him n will never love him like she love SRQ.. so at some point, I think he did have the intention to reunite LR n SRQ..

well, it's a free forum, people can freely share their opinions..I think it's hard to like or to understand the characters if you see things in black n white..but maybe it's because I've read the novel, so I have more time to get to know these characters... or maybe it's because of what I've experienced and seen so far in real life, n my own mindset, that I can better understand their way of thinking and actions, whether it's good or bad, for me it's understandable, in a way... cos, honestly, I've met people with characters like them around me..

I don't understand why when people watch dramas, they expect a perfect world n perfect characters... Her attachment to SRQ is understandable, because they spent a dozen years together... even if she feels angry n hurt about his betrayal, the caring feeling will remain, not entirelygone.. that's what happens in the real world.. n yes, she's was reckless n impulsive in that fire.. so what? it's been a hard week for her n the last 24hr were even harder.. give her a break.. n btw, that's not how it happened in the novel, it's a dramatization.. PWX failed to make her loved ones happy in her previous life, so he wanted to make up for it by uniting LR with the person she loves, SRQ, but then he realized that then or now, he was still not willing to let go of LR and finally tried to make LR fall in love with him.. what's wrong with that?
I really love this drama, n the novel is one of my fav.. just feel disappointed with how they dramatized SRQ death (I like the novel version better) There are a lot of comments stating that they're disappointed for the fact that SML had more screen time.. but I think it makes sense considering they only had 40 episodes (for 169 chapter), n SRQ is the most twisted person in the whole kingdom.. so there's a lot of his cheme that can't be cut out of the story (plus the writer also added some things to dramatize it for television)...
7.8 WHEN IT'S ONLY BEEN 3 DAYS AFTER THE FIRST EPISODE CAME OUT?!?! come on y'all.. wtf.
i think it's a decent rate for 1st ep.. cos for thai series, bl or not, for me it usually starts with 7.5, n it goes from there... n some might really like it n give it an 8 for joong hot look😁
You are an investigator! (3/3) The baby of your team! You are either a twist villain or have some great character development! As a rookie you bring a fresh pair of eyes, it pisses your superiors off when you are better than them.
