i actually like that type of ending tbh. for most of the show, even though hyeonjae is 21 he still acts immature and impulsive, only doing what he wants and not considering the consequences of what a fully-realized relationship would do to giwoo's career. so it shows maturity of hyeonjae to actually follow through with what he says and gives giwoo space and time to accept his own feelings and his divorce, so then he can approach hyeonjae on his own terms. if they just had them get together for the sole purpose of needing a happy ending, i'd be more mad because it wouldn't have made sense
