I agree that the personal growth and dynamics of the characters is explored extensively for some, but where the main couple is concerned this is largely stagnant....the 2nd main couple has greater depth with noticeable development of insight and maturity. The relationship between the FL and her uncle is not badly displayed either. However I comment on the romantic element as this is tagged as a romance, which is misleading- certainly between the main couple. I am actually a fan of the FL and her contribution in the Flame's Daughter was far more enjoyable and memorable.

At first glance it’s an incredibly interesting story line, but slightly disappointed with the erosion of the FL’s strength, particularly since the ML constantly saves her from predictable catastrophes. After watching a few more episodes I find her character a bit flat and there is little growth, whereas her cousin the Emperor’s daughter’s character is so much more interesting. There is chemistry between the second couple and it is believable. The main FL’s romance with the ML is forced, without chemistry and flat. Their one fake kiss is faded out so we see nothing. Romance wise there is very little of it. I am unfortunately very bored with the main couple and find the 2nd couple more enticing. I feel the 2nd FL has captivated and stolen the show with her charming performance and beautiful acting. I want to see more of them and join them on their journey of love. In contrast when the main couple hug, it feels like siblings are hugging each other. This drama is not living up to its reputation or expectations. The story line is unrealistic and I have no idea why so many people like this drama. There is nothing significant to commend it and very little to attract the attention span of a normal viewer. People who you expect to exhibit great scenes will do so and others come to a predictable end. I am gritting my teeth and sitting it out to the end as I want to know whether there is a happy ending. I will not comment on the ending and spoil it. Yes, there are some interesting and enjoyable moments, but not to the extent people are harping on about. Sorry but either lockdown has affected people’s judgment or there is little variety out there.
