Came here after watching the start of episode 4! That was such an awesome fight scene! I was completely mind blown. Had to drag my progress bar back again and again just to watch the intense choreography.
Wanted to watch only the first episode at first, ended up binging through all 3 episodes available and waking up the next day with dark circles under my eyes.
So worth it. Explosive fight scenes even for minor and side characters. Plot drawing me in and haunting my dreams. What moved me the most is how difficult their struggle for justice is, whether as a government officer or as a woman. Definitely looking forward to the next episodes.
Also wrote a very angry email to Youku in the middle of the night demanding reasons for this drama’s removal from the site. I subscribed to their 3-month VIP only for this drama, and they removed it after a few hours. If I had known, I’ll rather subscribe to Viu instead.
In the novel, does the FL have smaller role than 2nd ML hence the 4th billing or did they change it to give bigger…
Agreed. The entire situation is a mess and it’s chilling when you read about the entire situation online. If it could happen to a top tier actor like Yang Yang, who’s a veteran and has been in the industry over a decade, it can happen to anyone. It’ll be a long fight - the production team has been erasing critical comments and posts and restricting accounts
I’ve commented a summary of Yang Yang’s current situation elsewhere, so I’ll copy and paste it here, for fans who are still unaware of what YY’s been facing these days:
Some of the concerning allegations discussed at the moment: 1. Script Issue: Bait-and-Switch Script, Nonsensical Modifications - The script might have been written using AI. There is a line of AI prompt found in the script. - The version originally agreed by Yang Yang is allegedly different from what is being filmed now, where: - YY’s role is reduced drastically in narrative weight, with key highlights redistributed to secondary and tertiary male leads and added queer-baiting scenes for 2nd and 3rd ML. The entire script is filled with countless moments of 2nd and 3rd ML exchanging smiles and glances, looking at each other in admiration. - YY’s character’s lines, personality, achievements are given to 2nd ML - Highly intelligent strategist FL downgraded. Note: The author of the original work is said to have unfollowed everyone from the production on Weibo, except Yang Yang 2. Mistreatment of Yang Yang - Apparently, additional plots that made no sense to the narrative such as slapping the ML, humiliating scenes were added after YY joined the crew with fractured left hand. And the script specifically called for YY’s left hand to be hit. - YY took some days off to recover, but the crew dragged him back from Beijing before his break ended to work, probably to quell the rising onslaught of criticisms online and to appease investors - They hid YY most of the time, and in the brief moments he was conveniently revealed, YY’s injured hand was clearly swollen. They made YY remove his splint even though they could’ve easily Photoshopped it. - Online speculation that YY has lost access to his Weibo account. His latest statement to appease fans sounded off and AI-generated, weirdly cutesy unlike his typical straightforward/ introspective writing style. YY’s a veteran with published essays/articles, not the type to write: “I’ll be obedient and listen to doctor’s advice~~”. - Questionable styling and costume decisions for YY: they decided to dress YY in such awful, shoddy clothes that looked worse than those bought from Taobao and Pinduoduo. The 2nd and 3rd ML, on the other hand, got to dress in nicer clothes. Having seen the leaked pics myself, I could only sigh and say Yang Yang’s face is carrying the whole look.
There are way more issues than I could summarise here, and also lots of worry that the crew is set to ruin YY, especially with such awful characterisation, reduced to a cruder version with no resemblance to the original work.
YY is known for having no backing, achieving his current status step by step. His agent has never been of a help, worse now that YY’s contract is coming to an end. The production team hasn’t bothered to address any issues at all, only silencing voices of dissent - deleting comments, restricting/banning accounts speaking up on behalf of Yang Yang, and throttling views and reach of posts voicing criticisms. Each day brings yet another brand new negative revelation about the production crew. Honestly, they should really cease filming and let Yang Yang rest while they work on their disappointment of a script. He still needs to prepare for physically demanding scenes after all.

I can’t even read the new script without cringing hard. What’s up with “2nd and 3rd male lead exchanging glances”, “looking at each other in admiration”. The ending’s even botched up, what’s supposed to be ML’s is handed over on a silver platter to the 2nd ML. Today, they found a line of AI prompt in the script. The entire situation with this drama is so absurd I could write entire new novels from what I’ve seen on Weibo and xhs these few days.
