Oh very recently - I finished it 2 days ago & I started the series right after!:) so I was imagining Bai Lu & Cheng Lei. Honestly for me, they both worked because Ye Li is not the strongest fighter but a quick one and Cheng Lei is THE GENERAL for me (especially if they’re described as slender lol). And Cheng Lei is my Chusband#1 so he can do no wrong:)

No problem at all!! :) Exactly, she’s not a transmigrator in the series, but in the book she is. However she “wakes up” very young so her feelings about her maternal family (Xu) is very strong and genuine, but she still has her old life memories as well. Xiuyao and Ye Li’s relationship is more developed in the book - but of course, the book has 450 or so chapters so how can it be not? :) however, in the book even before they get married, they kinda understand each other and decide to be “partners” - two people doing the best under these circumstances (marriage edict), so there isn’t much “suspicion”. They quickly build trust, and slowly fall in love… it’s beautiful really :) Ye Li doesn’t have any mental trauma - she’s very steady, logical and intelligent… ugh I love her.

If I don’t see Xiao Huayong faint at least once, I’ll fight someone.

Oh boy… I feel like you should ask what’s similar to the book because other than the character names and some characteristics, nothing is. Ye Li is actually one of the best FLs I’ve ever read. How to describe her…. Yes, she has the advantage of being a transmigrator but she’s extremely clever and tough as well. She combines her previous (life) experience as a soldier and establishes the WORLD’s top elite military team called Qilin. She’s a WORLD famous military commander and strategist. She beats 100k+ enemy armies with 20k soldiers. Because the Lishan Academy is still open (but not in court) she doesn’t have any grudges until she marries Prince Ding. There’s no “love story” between her and Prince Li - who’s a psychopath like his brother, the Emperor. Emperor and Prince Li have been suppressing the Ding family for decades because their capabilities and merits have long surpassed the Royal Family’s mediocre governance. Prince Ding is the one revenging his family and Ye Li wholeheartedly helps him. Mo Xiuyao is actually a killing machine, with little regard to anything other than his revenge. But when Ye Li comes to his life - he’s %10000 committed. One time, when he thought Ye Li was dead, he murdered 7000 soldiers just to avenge his wife. If someone hurt or even tried to hurt Ye Li, they wouldn’t survive. Literally, there isn’t one person left alive in the novel who schemed to hurt her - unless Ye Li pardons them. Xiuyao is SO in love with Ye Li that it’s almost to the point of shamelessness - he lays on her lap when receiving some unnecessary court officials, begs her not to leave him EVER, cries out “you must love me!!” with the most pathetic, green tea eyes you can imagine lol. But he literally doesn’t care much for other people. However, he’s the TOP martial arts master and the best commander in the world. With his and Ye Li’s extraordinary talents, and with Xu family’s (Ye Li’s maternal family - Lishan lineage, a centuries old scholarly clan) predestine governance, the Ding Family finally gets rid of (both with wars and scheming lol) the Emperor, Prince Li, all treacherous officials, and some other enemy countries’ royals and generals; they establish their own territory and their son becomes the emperor. So, as you can see it’s a whole different concept, really. Not that I don’t like this series, but to call it an adaptation would be an overreach almost :) I also like my Ye Li as the strong, resilient, resolute, composed, tenacious commander who actually has the softest heart for the ones she loves and protects….

I’m sorry but this Tae Ha asshole drops his BF and tries to marry some random girl because he wants to feel “normal” but keeps cheating on her with his ex-BF - he also kissed a guy who had a boyfriend and told him that he would wait (for them to break up) in Blue Boys!!! Bitch what is wrong with youuuuuuuuu. Thank your lucky stars you’re gorgeous otherwise you don’t deserve Ji Un.
