Basically summed up my exact feelings... I actually have the drama on hold (at episode 30) and I’m not sure…
Hmm... I really love historical dramas and China is a jackpot for them, but they can get really messy really quickly. I've kinda come to terms with the fact that I'll never find my holy grail historical C-drama, but there are a few that I still enjoyed despite their faults. For example— Eternal Love. Amazing drama; really pissed me off with the inconsistencies sometimes, but it was the first historical C-drama I ever finished. I believe the producer of Eternal Love also produced Lost Love in Times, but I can't remember for sure. I also really respected Princess Wei Young; they did a really good job of pacing the audience so it didn't feel overwhelming despite how complex it was. I never finished it because I got busy and had to stop watching which led to me never getting back into it, but I do want to finish it one day. On the whole, I tend to enjoy dramas with impressive female characters, which Wei Young certainly is. I tried watching Princess Agents for this reason before it was on DramaFever, and enjoyed it, but the subtitles left me feeling lost. I'd like to try again with the official subtitles.
