Genghis Khan is considered Chinese because he ruled China but in fact he is not chinese or an original Han. He is mongol.
honestly i am not really that deep aware of mongols history i have a lot to catch up but as i know, mongols were divided into 4 different parts back then and 3 of these 4 parts' people were muslims so Genghis Khan might have been from the other part ? but idk its just my guess but if i ever came across sth ill let you know

right. not only Han but there were quite a few kingdoms in history of china other than Han like Liang and Zhou (all chinese) but yes Han was there and they were in charge of China some other times too like during Joseon as well they call it as "later Han". so thats why you can hear Han in so many different korean dramas in different times.

sorry in advance because this might get a bit long
first of all i shall say goryeo and goguryeo are not exactly 2 different kingdoms but goguryeo happens first and then around 300 years after they lost their kingdom to silla, goguryeo kings' great great sons start a new kingdom and they name it goryeo this time.
Goguryeo, Bakjae and Silla were all almost at the same time like you can imagine there were 3 different kingdoms in that area ( north korea, south korea, a part of china ). Jumong is the founder of goguryeo as you already know and Goguryeo gets conquered by Silla in the year of 668 so thats when goguryeo faces its end then there was this unified Silla in most parts of korea and if you have watched Emperror of the sea, unified Silla is where this drama takes place in. After around 300 years as I mentioned earlier some of gugoryeo's descendants take the kingdom of their ancestors back and for a new start they name it as Goryeo. Goryeo last for like more than 400 years and dramas like Empress ki , The Iron empress , God of War , Faith, etc all happen at this time in Goryeo kingdom. During Goryeo kingdom, Mongols were literally attacking the whole world ( this started by Genghis Khan who is like one of the most famous kings in history and was also mentioned quite a few times in empress ki ) and they got like one of biggest kingdoms in history so they took over the china too and they started a new and non-chinese kingdom in China called Yuan which we watched their time in empress ki and how they ended up losing their kingdom in the end. so yeah Yuan was located in China but they weren't chinese unlike Han and they were just trying to coerce their culture to people of china. Finally you can watch the final years of Goryeo dynasty and how the kingdom was changed to Joseon in the drama "Six Flying Dragons". Joseon is the latest dynasty in korea and their descendants still live in their own palace in seoul but they just dont have the power of ruling the country anymore. You can also watch this beautiful movie called "The Last Princess" which shows how the Joseon dynasty comes to the end. I hope I have explained it well 😭
