is it scary? Is it like on the same level as hotel del luna and the sun's master or is it mor escary than that?
its not scary as in jumpscare scary (at least so far, im on episode 3), its more on the grotesque side. there's a lot (and i mean a lot) of blood, monsters here and there (not terrifying but offputting). in that aspect, i consider it "scarier "than hotel del lua though hotel del luna is brighter, sweet home has little to 0 brightness to it. what gets a viewer is the suspense and journey of survival
first thoughts: the drama is a bit odd, although it stars your typical main cast from a romance drama but.... it has a twist in its dialogue (its bold, confident and weird at times). plotwise so far it seems interesting enough (we have at least... 4 plot points). no love triangle has been foreshadowed! yupy! characters have fundamental flaws that add to the drama's personality. it also features some beautiful cinematography!
watch it until the 2nd episode to know if its for you though, the first one is a bit of a sleeper, if not for that gorgeously aesthetic opening scene
Ngl, that bit where the FL's friend asked her if she was pregnant and the FL replied that that would never happen…
this series has already foreshadowed at least twice... first time in the 1st episode with the main actress commenting about the characters in her piece, when the whole 'jerk, nutjob, etc' was abt the characters in run on an 2nd time (this was might just be me overlooking), the song mijoo heard in her earbuds had the lyrics 'what if its all just pretend', and we later end the episode with mijoo and seongyeom pretending to be a couple ^-^
wooo the article looks like it took quite some time and loads of effort, congratulations!!! im glad to see someone that loves osts as much as i seem to ahah
This drama went from 만점 (100) to 빵점 (0) real quick ?The issue isn’t the fan ship war that has erupted…
you made some very interesting points. with this article i simply wanted to point out how our actions, even the ones we do with a good intention or even when we are not necessarily 'bad people', might have bad consequences, which happened quite a lot of times already throughout the series.
your comment is a great review though, it points out a lot of flaws the series had. so maybe add it under the reviews of start up alongside your rating!
Read only the beginning of the article because i was afraid of getting spoiled, but it already sparkled my curiosity, thank you! I'll come back and read it all once I watch the series!!!
girl this is so incredibly well written i got a headache. I find StartUp really intriguing to watch bc it makes…
you put it very well too! the way we deliver words takes just as much power as the words we're delivering. all the characters are dear to me, so at this point, love triangle and any other drama aside - i really just want all of them to be happy
At last someone said it.And what hurts me is that while people are trying to understand Han Ji Pyeong, no one…
i think thats because we've had more scenes of ji pyeong than in jae.... we saw ji pyeong growing up in the first episode, and we still see him having moments alone, struggling with his own quests as to figure out the real reason for his actions... that creates empathy. we still have to get more scenes of in jae alone, or of her growing up, when no one else is watching and putting pressure on her. scenes of her true self. she's still very interesting though
can someone spoil the story for me, don't know if I should watch it, why'd han ji pyung lie to dal mi go all the…
so far, we don't know fully either.... the drama is playing with the idea of either him doing it because he feels in debt to the grandmother that took care of him as a son, or the possible idea that he might have feelings for dalmi. it's too soon to tell right now
