10 yrs of physical pain vs 300 years of emotional pain. Who can say which hurt more?

This dramas seems to be very polarizing for a lot of people. Reviews range from this being a masterpiece to a redone xianxia plot with the same characters that they've seen hundreds of times before.

For casual viewers, the story might seem like a recycled xianxia plot that they've seen before and they're not necessarily wrong. Superficially, the ML and FL have misunderstanding which causes them to exact revenge, nothing new. What makes this drama different is knowing that not everything is as it seems. Knowing that there will be many plot twists forces you to almost become a detective and to engage and notice every single detail from the seemingly innocent actions to the microexpression on the actors' faces.

Many people are either looking for something to pass their time or they're not willing to give the drama a chance. Nothing wrong with that, Feud just won't be your cup of tea.

This is the first drama that I have ever felt compelled to write a review on. Seeing so many people either blaming/siding with BJS or HRY, I would like to put my two cents in.

While I agree that communication could have solved some tension between the couple. The underlying issue is far harder to resolve. People are forgetting that they are the representation of yin and yang. One is fire, the other is water. One is warm in nature, the other is cold in nature. Their views and priority have never been the same. There was a reason they fought for thousands of years before finally calling a truce. The only common denominator between them was and is their love for each other.

HRY had wandered civilization for thousands of years before awakening BJS; so she is able to empathize more with humans. Whereas the first thing BJS saw when he opened his eyes was HRY, and all he ever cared about was her. She was the only one in his eyes and everything he has done was to keep her safe.

Both of their actions are valid in accordance to what they believe and see (BJS heartlessly abandoning her in the mortal realm vs HRY coming back after 10 yrs and trying to kill him seemingly out of nowhere). No one should be playing the blame game. No one can say who is hurt more. No one can negate nor dismiss either one's experience and pain. Neither of them are wrong.

All that said, I would highly recommend this drama for viewers. To come in with an open mind and attention to detail. BL and ZSX, along with the rest of the cast have done a wonderful job in depicting their characters.

pretend the last 15 minutes doesn't exist

LIN! SHI! GE!!!!!!!!!

10/10 story but let's all pretend the story ended at the proposal.

First time watching Chen Jingke and goddamn have I been missing out. This man is fineeeeee. Sun Zhenni has improved tremendously with each new series released. The casting and acting was perfect.

This drama hits all the sweet spots. Would definitely recommend this series for people looking for a fluffy high school love story.
