Truly longing for the day they stop writing autistic people this badly... I get that they're trying to do something educational and positive but this is no less alienating than the rest. Infantilizing, reductive, and ostentatiously empty of thought and meaning.

That was the most painfully unappealing romance drama I've ever watched. The complete lack of chemistry between the leads was kind of amazing tbh it was like watching cardboard cutouts speaking. I loved Sol and Jiwan so much however they're the only reason I forced myself to finish...

Hmm, guess thanks for spreading this info about their private life I don't need.
Dude you are the one who clicked on the article 😭 no one was holding you hostage and forcing you to read à la Clockwork Orange

The novel is unreleased and the drama scriptwriter is the author herself so it's pretty much like an original…
Ok thank you!

Does anyone know if the original novel has been translated anywhere? I'd love to read it before the show airs, the story sounds great, but I can't find it.

Review Vincenzo
I originally wanted to watch this when it came out (because of Taecyeon, ngl) but the plot itself was unattractive to me, and the more I heard about it or saw clips and gifsets by happenstance, the less I understood how highly rated this show is. Every time I came back on the show's page on MDL, because I thought that surely I would want to watch it after all, the reviews (even the positive ones!) made me lose all interest. Everything I see of Vicenzo feels cheap and familiar from other, better-written dramas. I guess I'll have to settle for thirst trap edits of Taecyeon as a villain and not for his actual character :/ thanks for the review!

Lmao i was so surprised by his voice as well! I wasn't expecting much from him because I only saw him in Legend of the Phoenix before, and that show was a mess too... but his real voice is incredible! It gave a lot of depth to his character, on top of Tsui's superb acting through the show. Everyone who watched seems to have noticed it too haha. Why did they give him such a bad dub in LotP? I was genuinely shocked

Desperately waiting for new subbed episodes because I'm thoroughly enjoying this and the novel so far... I love when that happens, especially for shows I started watching on a whim and without any expectations. I think all female leads should have 4 exes running after her

I was only planning to focus on Shi Yi and Zhousheng Chen's relationship in this after One and Only shattered me but now I'm bothered because Ci Sha is so hot... I already found him hot as the enemy prince monk guy but here he's truly exceedingly attractive. Let me focus on my otp please sir...

Title Catch the Ghost Spoiler
To be fair, not enough back story was given to the FL at the beginning of the drama for viewers to empathise.…
I can understand that but tbh I prefer when backstory is shown bit by bit later in the story I find it cheaper when everything is explained at once... I think it was rather well implied that she was hiding things as to the disappearance of her sister bc she clearly feels guilty for it, and the watcher wonders why bc it's not like someone being kidnapped can be her fault. I like that the reveal of her having a moment of selfishness and anger resulting in Yu Jin going missing was revealed later, it makes her reckless behavior and inability to leave people to their issues make sense in retrospect. The show clearly has writing issues like you said but I think those are more about the later episodes when things drag along and jump from useless plot twist to useless plot twist re: the identity of the killer. I didn't feel like they took away from the four main characters' development.

Sorry lmao I'm not annoyed at you specifically in any way I just always get irritated when people dislike female leads for being reckless and eccentric, especially characters like Yu Ryung who have very solid reasons for being like this... Every time I can't help but think that if this were a male character instead everyone would love him for it...

i really worry about people's capacity to understand characters and female characters especially when i see the ridiculous amount of dislike this FL gathered for being brash and impulsive... she's neither stupid nor thoughtless she just has a goal and she is extremely diligent about reaching it. i found her extremely enjoyable and it's very easy to sympathize with her. her decisions make you laugh or worry or feel frustrated depending on the circumstances and this kind of emotional diversity is what good characters are all about.

the way she keeps to herself and hesitates to rely on anyone / ask for help or judgment check is very understandable considering the way she grew up having to take care of her sister like an adult all by herself. she has a pristine sense of justice and deep feelings of responsibility toward anyone who needs help, to the point of burdening herself emotionally and physically. her guilt drives her into taking on this role, and there is a lot of subtlety in how she avoids depending on her boss & her friends because of this guilt and because she simply doesn't know how.

she is a great main character. she leads the show extraordinarily well. her being so reserved emotionally while also being so loud, impulsive, uncaring of hierarchy and orders, are all the reasons this show is so good, and i wouldn't want her to be any different. i don't usually comment on dislike of female characters because i know people have no brain or reading comprehension and it's useless but i felt like it this time because i also love moon geun young on top of loving the FL she plays. she's a great actress playing a great character. i wish drama watchers could develop more than shallow surface-level understanding of female leads.
