News Delicious Until I Started Feeling Hungry
Love Next Door is cute, warm and incredibly easy to watch. Jung So-min was fantastic and has quickly become one of my favourite actresses.
The first half felt delicious. There was enough mystery, tension and unresolved history to keep me invested, and the episode 9 reveal genuinely had me crying. But once the biggest questions were answered, I started to feel hungry again. The romance became predictable and the neighbourhood never felt alive enough to fill the gap — unlike Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, where the town itself felt like a third lead.
Some of the later callbacks also didn’t quite land for me. The foreshadowing was so subtle that instead of getting an “ahhh!” moment, I mostly just thought, “Oh… okay.”
Still, it’s a lovely drama with great performances and an adorable central relationship.
8/10.
