I find it hard to believe she is in her forties

I only saw her in a few things and am a little sad about her being pretty much retired, but she is probably living a happy life with her family and that is all you could want for anybody. I hope someday she returns, but if not we can still enjoy the stuff she was in while she was still in the business

I would argue that Horikita Maki guest starred as Kinomiya Nagisa not Nobuko Kotani.

With the change of Shōtarō's character from being in high school to working at a museum it could mess up a potential storyline that covered 2 episodes of the anime

It is good, but some of the changes that were made from the anime make it lose some of its charm.

I agree, but if you search it, it is all over the place that this is the second part of a trilogy

Apparently this got a 5 episode extension

It isn't looking great on the second lead front, I am just dropping it until ep 100 and if it isn't getting good by then I am done.

If I hadn't already invested so much time into this I would drop it. They are 93 episodes in and it is still stalled at the same shit story.
