I didn't think I would cry so much watching this show. The old man, the rape victim, and the comfort women really just had me bawling my eyes out. None of the issue were made light of but I did think some things were resolved too easily. Great show tho: 8/10
I dont think I'll ever get over this show being cancelled. This feels like it really could have been amazing. If using the names of real people in a fantasy story was such a problem I feel like it would have been easy to change or dub over. It feels similar to how Chinese dramas are not allowed to have fantasy elements once you get to the Republic era and on. Hope this doesn't lead to similar things happening later down the line
I feel like a lot of people aren’t understanding the fact that this show is a metaphor. It isn’t about why…
I agree. This is a story that is more about what you can make of it, if that makes sense. It’s not as straightforward as what a lot of people seem to want it to be. I do like that the story was as violent as it was because I think the shock of what’s going on bolsters the metaphor. Absolutely enjoyed watching it
I'm seeing a few people disappointed or losing interest in this show, but I'm loving it so much. Obviously ep 6 was more of a filler episode but I thought introducing her first love really humanizes Yi-Kang. I tend to stay away from dramas with romance but their relationship was super cute. Also I'm still thinking the killer behind everything will be the police officer. The team leader seems too obvious and he's likely taking the yellow ribbons down because he knows someone out there is killing people but can't prove it. Super excited for next weeks episodes!!
For those asking if they need to watch the other seasons, the answer is no. They legit summarize what happened before in the first few minutes of episode 1. But I would implore you to watch them because the previous 3 seasons were amazing!
I know a lot of people dropped this drama but I really enjoyed the ride. Like most I could've done without the serial killer and shaman plot line but oh well. The last couple episodes were really tense and it just kept me wanting more. Also it's only 12 eps so it's not like it's too much to sit through to get to the good parts. The two main leads were amazing and really kept this show going through the middle episodes. I've loved their individual previous work and would love to see them again in something. Overall 8/10 I'm telling ya, give it a shot
This show is so amazing. It's totally worth the watch and at this point it's number 1 on my list of BLs. Everything worked so well for me and the chemistry between MaxTul was just so on point. They were so good!!!! Also Inspector M really wormed his way into my heart
For me this was okay but I can't say I'll watch it again. I really only enjoyed it for Wang Zhi (Liu Yao Yuan) who did an amazing job and really stood out. The cases were pretty good at first but I wished they didn't take 5 to 6 episodes to solve them. Also Tang Fan was pretty annoyingly selfish and seemed to do more harm than good most of the time. There were definite good parts like Wang Zhi, the action, and certain side characters, but for what I was expecting it kinda fell short. 7/10 (So excited to see more of Liu Yao Yuan's work in the future!!!!)
I'm watching Nirvana in fire for the first time and I love it ,, should I watch this one after it ? or I will…
I also just finished NiF and now I'm like 15 eps into The Disguiser. I've certainly enjoyed it so far but the beginning is confusing because I don't totally understand the historical context but it's still awesome. The action is pretty good too and makes me feel pretty hyped
What an interesting movie! I haven't read the source material (but now I sure will) but I really enjoyed this movie. I really love Ayano Go's other work so I new I had to watch this when it appeared on Netflix. It's super weird and doesn't really go in the direction you would expect. This is a definite recommend for me
Such a remarkable movie!!! The acting really made this movie for me and it's been a while since I watched anything this violent (I thought it was awesome!!!) Also I feel like I see Park Byung Eun in every movie I watch :) He's such a pleasant surprise
Awesome movie!! I know some people are disappointed with the ending but honestly I kinda loved it...Anyway it went differently than most Korean movies so I am happy to see them try a different ending ( It's difficult to be vague when talking about the ending :)
