I didnot read the novel or any thing do recommend this drama to me.?
I won't recommend this unless you are a great fan of the actors, and you don't mind a story that's full of holes & all over the place. If you like this kind of genre then I would recommend "Fights Break Sphere" (another web novel written by the same author but with a much better adaptation) and "Ashes of Love".
This is how you do a drama adaptation of a web novel! In comparison, "Martial Universe" is doomed by the poor scripting.
Even though "Fights Break Sphere" is an adaptation of a web novel, the script writers did a great job putting in intelligence, wit & logic to the story. The characters are complex & well etched out, with their own motivations. For example, the way the Nalan Patriarch adopted in breaking his granddaughter's engagement with Xiao Yan. That's truly well written. I also like how they make Yanran more than just a spoiled missy but someone forced by circumstances & loyalty for what she did to Xiao Yan.
The actors fit their characters perfectly. Pretty impressed by their acting so far.
Keeping my fingers crossed that the good qualities would persist till the end.
This is the kinda Frankenstein you get when the screenwriter thinks he/she can write a better story than the original author but without the talent to write his/her own. Lin Dong & Qing Tang are so annoying in this drama. If you wanna do an adaptation there are certain core elements that need to be kept especially when the novel & manhua already have a strong following.
