your cutesy but event-free high school drama!!

Just from the headline, you can tell my exact thoughts on Boys In Love.I,personally, love high school dramas so much whether they include a plot or not. This was the absolute situation in this series. You see a bunch of high schoolers go through their teenage life and some minor issues in their relationship but somehow the series manages to captivate the viewers with the fluffy cutesy environment in the high school.
Each of the characters had their very own personalities and I could relate with them all and couldn't blame anyone when a misunderstanding or a problem occured because they were just teenagers and were trying their best in life. So,my #1 comment upon the drama would be that you shouldn't expect much from the storyline since nothing really happens. You won't be upset in any episode because even when the couples fight they casually talk it out and fix things quickly so if you just finished a gut-wrenching drama this could be your choltry. Now,this is the relationship dynamic I want to see in Korean BL's too.Even when the couple is mature and old enough to talk things out they always choose to run and hide but look at these young Thai boys, they fix things quicker than anybody else!
Normally,I don't like BL's with many couples but all of the couples in this series had their unique features and own plots.Starting with the teachers, they were absolutely adorable and showed maturity in the series among all those teenagers.I really thought Tan resembled Shane throughout the series, not looks-wise but personality-wise.They're both nerds and more on the awkward side comparing to the others.Their relationship built up perfectly and I enjoyed watching their scenes a lot, especially when they were going on a vacay and Mon brang Tan,and Nat said "So you just brought another child for me to take care of".I don't know why but I had found it really sweet.
We had Shane and Kit,and they served face cards! Both have great visuals but they weren't the best at acting unfortunately.Mick(Shane) needs to improve his sobbing face immediately because it seems unnatural and spoils all the sad vibes. However,I liked Luke's(Kit) acting more especially on the scenes were he was confused and looked so in love. His smile is so tender and he knows how to use it.They were my favorite couple on the series but Shane's constant ignorance and self-doubt on their relationship pulled me back from being a fan of them.It feels like he'll avoid Kit for the rest of his life,he still seems cold sometimes and don't feel comfortable being in a relationship.
Then we had Mon and Kim..They were my favorite couple on the series however I didn't really like the way their relationship started.Kim is falling in love with everyone and he's lovesick. If Mon had rejected him he would probably move on after 3 days and find a new person to fall in love with and the cycle would continue. But after their relationship formed and obstacles started to occur in their relationship,Kim seems so dedicated to being in a relationship with Mon.I adored the way how he prevented Mon from drinking and brought him home at 10 because his mom said so.There's just something that confuses me a little. In one scene, when they were in the library, the series is hinting us that Kim tends to be afraid to be seen in the public.I thought they would focus on that and explain Kim's thought when he did that but they ignored it!It's not that I want to watch a couple more scenes about a boy who's afraid to be seen because we already had that a lot with Kim and Shane but also I'd prefer everything to be explained and not remain superficial. If you started something then the show must go on!Other than that this couple was too sweet with how clingy they were to each other and Aston's smile and dimples just made everything a hundred times better.
Last but not least we had Per and Tar and how I wanted them to be together.I'm not mad that the storyline didn't cover their relationship though because I loved their scenes as friends and just a shade above that.Probably,if Per had confessed his love to him Tar would open up too but I think that part is left to the viewers discretion.
Other than these four sweet couples and their relationship,I didn't find any problems in the production. The series is filmed well ,I mean there's nothing to say much.
Overall,I liked the series so much however acting could be better for everyone but there wasn't something that irritated me specifically. The plot is bland but cute and captivates you so I would recommend it but I wouldn't rewatch it.

somethings off

When I first saw Ball Boy Tactics on social media I thought it would be promising both because of its intriguing plot and attractive cast. However, the couples' relationship dynamic is not the best and some of the events are shown extremely superficial. Now,I don't want to give spoilers but you expect a drama to continue from where its left, right? This drama leaves you somewhere at the end of the episode and takes you somewhere else,so distant from the previous episode that most of the time you'll have a hard time understanding what is going on on the drama. Also, the editing of the drama seems so clumsy especially in the third episode,as far as I can remember, one scene comes and goes without any transition effects.I really felt like I'm scrolling through bl edits on social media which makes the drama seem unprofessional.
Although I can understand the reason they act that way in the drama,I couldn't really relate to Han Jiwon's thoughts.Just because you haven't dated anybody else before doesn't mean you don't know basic human relationship sense.I can see in his eyes that he values Jeongu but he doesn't really understand what he feels. It feels like even Jeongu shouts his love from the rooftop he'll say "I don't really understand these things" and will try to shut his feelings down. However,I'm glad that he gathered the courage to make the move later on.
I also loved the friends and I'd like to seem them together in a different drama because they have the perfect chemistry:the one whos loud and dumb and the one whos silent and smart. They balance each other perfectly and even they had really small parts,I was rooting for them the whole time and they are actually together in my head.
This drama has also got surprisingly many good kissing scenes which differs from the other korean bls.I was waiting for "that scene" to stop like after " 1 or 2 minutes but it probably lasted more than 5 minutes which made me question why they haven't used that time to develop their relationship arc. But,can I say I didn't like it?Of course,I can not.I was actually really glad to see korean bls stepping up for a little and getting out of their comfort zone.
Overall, this drama needs much more improvement for the clumsy storyline which made the drama kind of choppy and needs better relationship build up.

something you could watch while youre journalin or on 2x

As it's seen on the headline this series was slightly boring and I don't even know why.I genuinely love vampire stories but this just doesn't get to you in words that I can't really describe.Maybe it's because it drags the drama a lot which makes the series lengthy.Korean-like production would suit the series better in my opinion,30 minute per episode and 8 eps in total.Because we all knew what was going to happen between the couple from the start so you might as well get to it as soon as possible but also in a motion that we can savour the couple's great chemistry.

Although I sensed some kind of betrayal from Thara,I could never predict I would love Nakan's character. They always have to make us like the side characters in the last few episodes!
Is it just me or Gawin's acting has really improved since be my favorite? He seems more comfortable while acting and doesn't look stiff in specific scenes which he did in Be My Favorite.Another possibility is that maybe he just acts bottom characters better though,I guess I'll never know. Then of course we have Joss.I'm always mesmerized by his looks and was glad to finally have a BL series with him.I enjoyed even boring scenes thanks to his looks.I find his acting also solid,I mean I wasn't obsessed to be honest but their chemistry made each lovey-dovey scene better that we could ignore some minor disturbances.
However,I found Tong's personality extremely annoying.Like, girl you are face to face with death and you still don't care about it and willing to pursue a relationship with a vampire who has the possibility of draining all your blood on a random Tuesday night. Not only you're like this but you also soothe him when he gets the urge to do that?I found this situation really desperate and nonsense but I couldn't really blame anyone for this because otherwise how were they even going to matchmake them?I don't have the answers for that but still, that seems illogical. The other reason why I found Tong's personality silly is that he uses the phrase "use my blood","you can get my blood" etc.Who in the world is willing to die like this?I personally haven't encountered one yet.In that scene, where they were trying to make someone talk to know where Nakan was,Tong told Mark to trust him and I sincerely thought we would get to see a reasonable solution for the problem but no!Our devoted golden blood just pricks himself and says "I'll let you taste my blood".Girl literally forgot that there are other vampires than Mark and Thara at the location. You can clearly see that Mark is holding someone one-armed and the vampire he's blocking doesn't even try to reach Tong.So this was also nonsense,I mean overall Tong was nonsense.

Throughout the series, the plot just didn't grab me.I couldn't find logical answers to my questions like why doesn't Nakan eat Tong anyways? He knows he's the golden blood but all he cares is getting a revenge on Thara?Come on,it doesn't make any sense.I mean there is that scene where he couldn't drink his blood but I thought it was because Mark was around, though the series never really explains the reason why Nakan couldn't reach him at that moment.I had liked the "21st birthday" thing but it was also somehow not surprising nor intriguing.

I loved how the musics were all made by Gawin and Joss.I enjoyed hearing their majestic voices in the episodes and it suits the drama perfectly. But would I listen to it again besides the drama?Probably not.

I have a lot of nonsense plots and superficial scenes in my mind to spot it out but I might as well not and just say that this series doesn't make any sense and even if you like vampire stories a lot and think you'll never be able to not like the series,I mean go for it,watch it.But I would consider this series as a casual BL drama rather than a well-done vampire series.I watched it while journaling so it was kind of more bearable like that.
