YES. This is exactly how I feel too. Which is so unfortunate because this drama was genuinely one of my most anticipated this year so it sucks that I’m heating it this much.

To answer your first question, no. I just watched the 10th episode, and the series only gets worse as time goes on. I’d recommend just saving your time and dropping it now bc it’s not worth it.

THANK YOU. It’s actually crazy to me how everybody’s villainizing the FL, when it’s the ML that is the problem here. Yes, you can feel sympathy for him because of his unrequited feelings but that doesn’t mean you have to justify him pushing the FL away and being rude to her (even though she hasn’t done anything to him btw), just because of HIS hurt feelings. I’m honestly so sick of Asian dramas fans constantly infantilizing the male lead no matter what and villainizing the female lead constantly. All of a sudden when it comes to the female leads perspective, nobody understands the concept of nuance, but the moment the ML treats the FL wrong or does something to her that isn’t right all of a sudden it’s just “Oh he’s just doing it because his feelings are hurt” and apparently that’s justifiable enough.

Yeah, I know the ending left a lot to be desired but, up to that point, Tender Light had been basically perfect. It definitely seems like people are being aren’t objective here, which is disappointing for sure.

The worst part about this ending for me is, it didn’t have to end this way. If Fanglu wasn’t so dead set on convicting Zhou Luo and “saving” Nan Ya, she would’ve been acquitted due to self defense, she would’ve gotten to stay with her daughter and her and ZL would’ve been able to be together (he would’ve went to college, got a good job, and finally got her and Wanwan out of that terrible ass town). Not to mention that if those fuck ass cops had just helped Nan Ya just ONE of the MANY times that she went to them for help, Xu Yi would be in jail and the “murder” would’ve never happened. Don’t get me wrong, I still love this drama, but if things happened differently, Nan Ya and Zhou Luo would’ve had their happy ending, and that’s something that is going to fuck with me for a very long time.
